CANCÚN, Quintana Roo – Quintana Roo’s tourism sector is set for a significant boost with the addition of six new air connections this year, along with increased flights from Canada and the continued success of the Cozumel-Monterrey route. Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa announced these developments, emphasizing the state’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and attracting more visitors.

During a recent visit to Cancún for the “Empléate Mujer” job fair, Governor Lezama detailed the new flight routes, many of which were finalized during the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) in Madrid, Spain. “We are thrilled to announce these new routes, which will significantly improve Quintana Roo’s accessibility,” she stated.

Specifically, Viva Aerobús has confirmed four new routes from the United States to Cancún:
- Nashville to Cancún
- Memphis to Cancún
- Columbia to Cancún
- Cincinnati to Cancún
Additionally, Viva Aerobús will launch a long-awaited domestic route:
- Cozumel to Monterrey

International connections are also expanding. World2fly has confirmed a daily flight:
- Cancún to Madrid
Furthermore, Volaris will introduce a new route connecting Central America to the Riviera Maya:
- Costa Rica to Tulum (starting July 1st)
“We continue to grow,” Governor Lezama emphasized, highlighting the state’s momentum in expanding its air travel network.

The recent opening of the Tulum International Airport (TQO) has further amplified Quintana Roo’s connectivity. Airlines are actively establishing new routes to TQO, contributing to the region’s overall growth. This new airport is a major factor in the regions expansion of airline connections.

The addition of these new flights, combined with the strategic development of the Tulum airport, underscores Quintana Roo’s dedication to expanding its tourism sector and providing enhanced travel options for both domestic and international visitors. These new routes will provide a greater connection to both domestic and international travelers.
