Quintana Roo Hotel Expansion Expects To Reach 120,000 Rooms By The End Of 2021

5,000 new rooms in the Mexican Caribbean will be built by the end of 2021, raising the numbers to 120,000. This hotel expansion is going to bring some fresh and exciting things for travelers to enjoy.

Marisol Vanegas Pérez, the Secretary of Tourism of Quintana Roo has stated that since 2020, the number of rooms in the state has increased to over 100,000. “Even in the face of a global pandemic we have been able to increase our number of rooms statewide to 115,000 since 2020. And with construction still underway, we expect to hit 120,000 rooms by the end of 2021.” he said. This increase in room availability will help meet the demands of tourism in the area.

AMResorts will have six new hotels in the state of Quintana Roo with just under 3,000 rooms total. “With this US $840 million dollar investment there will be 2,800 new rooms constructed in this hotel expansion. Some are expected to be ready by the end of 2021, and others sometime next year.” announced Alex Zozaya, executive president of Apple Leisure Group.

Breathless Cancun Soul Resort & Spa is scheduled to open on December 21st 2021. This resort has over 400 rooms, located on the Cancun hotel strip between The Nichupté Lagoon and The Caribbean Sea. You’ll have to check it out if you like high-levels of luxury, multiple pools to choose from, all the food you could eat and views of a lifetime.

To ensure the health and safety of their guests, AMResorts is very proud to offer its CleanComplete Verification™. This verification is an in-depth, 365-Degree safety & hygiene system built to elevate quality standards and overall cleanliness. Their protocols and certification is considered one of the best in the industry.

Thanks to the Magogon project, there will also be a new H10 hotel with just under 600 rooms. In addition to other expansions with chains like Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, who’ve announced a unique 100 room hotel that is scheduled to open sometime this year. Perhaps one of the most exciting ones to open in the area this year is the long awaited Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya. As of June 2021, you will be able to enjoy one of over 250 luxury suites while exploring a themed waterpark and even meeting some of your favorite Nickelodeon characters like the Ninja Turtles or SpongeBob!

All these expansions are great news for tourism workers and the overall economy in the Mexican Caribbean. Even though the area is still considered one of the most profitable in the world, tourism everywhere took a major hit due to the Covid-19 global pandemic.
