From quick and easy trails all the way to expert level trails where you should probably bring an experienced guide with you – there is something for everyone! Today we will share with you 4 Mexican Caribbean trails top rated by travelers that are under 6 miles long, keeping them generally quick and easy!
The Walled City
Located in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, ‘The Walled City’ is a heavily trafficked loop that gives hikers a little taste of what a pre-Columbian Mayan city was like. This specific one served as a major port for the ancient city of Coba and to date is one of the best preserved costal Mayan sites. See Map and other info here.

Akumal Beach
The name ‘Akumal’ means ‘place of the turtles’ and this tropical paradise has been a home for turtles for as long as as this place has existed. If you see any mounds of sand while wandering on this beach trail, please don’t trample them – it could be a turtle nest! The Akumal beach out and back trail is perfect for your morning walk or run, but nothing is stopping you from bringing your snorkel gear and taking a quick dip into the crystalline waters.

Cancun’s Hotel Zone
Not only is this trail lightly bustling and beautiful, but its also pretty accessible for everyone. It’s wheelchair friendly, dogs are allowed and there are bike tours available to kick your trail adventure up a notch.

Botanical Garden Trail
This beautiful lush garden loop is considered a beginners level loop that is short, sweet and incredibly beautiful. For your 1.11 mile hike you’ll be surrounded by tons of tropical plants, cacti and possibly even some birds for a little birdwatching!
