After over a year of international border closures due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Canadian border is finally starting to ease restrictions and re-open for international tourism. In response to this incredible news from the Canadian Government, Air Canada has updated their flight schedules to include more connections to Cancun and other areas of the Mexican Caribbean.
As long as the domestic epidemiological situation remains positive, starting on September 7th 2021 the Canadian government plans to reopen the border for fully vaccinated international tourists who meet all entry requirements.
Mark Galardo, Senior Vice President of Network Planning and Revenue Management at Air Canada expressed in a recent interview how delighted Air Canada is to finally be able to reconnect back with Cancun and other sought after tropical destinations.
“Cancun and Punta Cana are among some of the most popular tropical destinations, and we are happy to be able to finally bring these connections back. ” he said.
Starting on December 4th Air Canada will have 2 flights per week flying from Quebec’s Jean Lesage International Airport to the white sandy beaches of Cancun. Just in time for Canadians to beat the cold of winter!
Air Canada has already updated their flight schedule to include these flight options this upcoming winter as well as their booking policy to help better serve traveling during a pandemic.
The Canadian government currently views Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson as acceptable vaccines to fight against Covid-19 and all international tourists who plan to enter into Canada must be fully immunized with one of those four.
