5 Top Rated Taco Joints In Tulum

Last Updated

This favored beach-town is well loved for its laid back Mexican Caribbean vibes, the white sandy beaches that lead to breathtaking blue turquoise waters and of course, the many options to fuel your body, mind and soul.

When I’m personally on vacation in Mexico, one of my favorite ways to fuel my body is with authentic Mexican tacos! The streets there are lined with different food trucks and taco stands, and no two are the same – I suggest going for a walk and a taco joint hop to find your own personal favs! Here are 5 top rated taco joints in Tulum to add to your must try list!

Did somebody say “tacos for breakfast?!” – Taqueria Honorio is open early and known as the place to get tacos in Tulum. Their most popular menu item is cochinita pibil (slow cooked pork tacos) and most of their tacos start around $1 USD which makes it very affordable to feast!

This is the place for what many call “splurge tacos” – simply because they cost on average about $15 USD for 3 tacos instead of the popular $1 tacos you can get at many stops in the Mexican Caribbean. Now this might sound insane, but a reservation at the Papaya Playa Project does have a minimum that you need to spend, so why not spend that on tacos?
