Six Maya Train Resorts To Be Completed By 2024

The 1500-kilometer-long Maya Train railway system is one of the most exciting developments to occur in the Mexica Caribbean.

Along with the brand-new Felipe Carrillo International Airport in Tulum, the costly railway project is set to make traveling around the region easier than ever.

It’s also expected to bolster the region’s visitor numbers by the hundreds of thousands, meaning that existing hotels might not have the capacity to accommodate the surge in travelers.

This week, Mexico’s hotel certification agency from the country’s Secretariat for Tourism handed out quality assessment certifications to six new Maya Train resorts

Most of the properties are being built in regions that lack modern resort rooms, such as Palenque and Chichen Itzá.

While these areas are already popular for their historical attractions, they are set to welcome thousands of daily travelers as more visitors begin taking advantage of the new railway system.

Massive Maya Train Resort To Open In Tulum

Tulum is set to receive one of the largest Maya Train resorts, which will boast a whopping 352 suites alongside an impressive list of amenities.

As the unofficial capital of Quintana Roo’s Mayan region, Tulum is home to the most visited Mayan ruins in the region, the Tulum Archeological Zone.

Strategically situated close to the Maya Train station as well as the city’s Mayan ruins, Tulum’s new Maya Train resort will be convenient for travelers coming from both the railway system and the city’s new International airport.

Guests can look forward to numerous amenities to make the most of their stay. What makes Tulum’s Maya Train resort a true standout is the huge number of authentic archeological pieces that will be on display throughout the resort, giving it immense historical value.

However, the resort will also boast more conventional amenities, like two massive interconnected outdoor pools measuring 90 meters in length. Two Mayan-themed spas complete the resort’s relaxing offerings.
