Given the amount of tourists being maintained in the state, officers are continuing to circulate areas to ensure covid-19 rules are being followed by the state’s visitors and residents.
Areas located in the state of Quintana Roo such as Cancun and Tulum are reinforcing covid protocols such as hotel occupancies, sanitization, physical distancing and more safety measures.
In regards to these health procedures, state officials are patrolling different areas to ensure safety guidelines are being followed.
This weekend, a rooftop party with dozens of visitors was shut down in Tulum. The party was located in a hostel in the Huracanes neighborhood and was visited and shut down by officers from the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (COFEPRIS) after they had received multiple complaints.
The party contained dozens of people and was hosted on the rooftop of Charly. Police and elements of the National Guard evicted the people involved and shut down the hostel for violating the state’s covid health protocols.
Although Cancun is currently open to tourists for travel, there are health procedures and guidelines visitors must abide by for the city’s optimal safety.
As for entering the city, Cancun requires a health declaration form and scanning of the QR code it generates on arrival to the country of Mexico.
Although there is no need to take a test or quarantine prior to arrival into Cancun, American tourists require a negative Covid-19 test result taken 72 hours or less before returning back to the US.
