This week, two hotels in Cancun were recognised for their excellent service and facilities in the World’s Best Travel Awards. Hyatt’s Ziva Cancun was awarded the title of ‘Mexico’s Leading Beach Resort 2022’, whilst The Grand at Moon Palace Cancun was awarded the sought-after ‘Mexico’s Leading Family Resort 2022’.
The World Travel Awards are recognised globally as the ‘Oscars of tourism’, with previous winners experiencing an influx of tourist bookings and international acclaim. Alongside these hotels, Cancun, Isla Mujeres and Tulum won awards for being some of the best destinations to visit in the entirety of Mexico.
Without further ado, here is why Hyatt’s Ziva Cancun and The Grand at Moon Palace won their prestigious titles at this year’s World Travel Awards.
Hyatt Ziva Cancun
With one of the best spots along the coastline in Cancun’s Hotel Zone, it’s no wonder that the Hyatt Ziva Cancun was awarded the title of ‘Mexico’s Leading Beach Resort’. The resort has two stunning white-sand beaches to relax on, just a short walk away from the hotel.
Guests that want to pamper themselves are invited to sip a cocktail and relax in a beachside cabana, whilst those who are a little more adventurous can try several water sports, including surfing, kayaking, and paddleboarding.
This is only the beginning of the wonderful water activities available at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun: visitors can choose from up to 3 infinity pools to swim in, with two reserved for adults only. There are also a host of waterfront restaurants on-site, ensuring there are plenty of opportunities to capture the perfect sunset over the Caribbean sea.
If that wasn’t enough, the resort even boasts a number of spectacular swim-up suites so that guests can dive into the pool directly from their room in a matter of seconds.
As always, the Hyatt Ziva Cancun continues to wow guests with its other excellent amenities, not limited to a state-of-the-art Gym, 7 bars and lounges to enjoy drinks in, and 10 on-site restaurants and eateries suitable for the whole family to enjoy.
Furthermore, the resort is incredibly accessible for tourists, as it is located just 30 minutes away from the Cancun International Airport. For ease of access, the resort even offers airport connections to ensure that tourists make the most of their stay without having to worry about transportation.

The Grand At Moon Palace
If you’re in need of an all-inclusive getaway that’s also fun for the whole family, look no further than The Grand at Moon Palace. Located just outside of Cancun’s hotel zone, the Grand manages to combine top-of-the-range luxury facilities, such as their intimate AWE spa, with family-friendly amenities, including a waterpark, children’s playroom and an on-site bowling alley.
Children and adults alike will love diving into the Wired gaming centre and arcade, where there are a variety of console video and arcade games to choose from. Open from 10 am-11 pm, the lounge ensures that the fun never stops, come rain or shine.
The same can be said about The Grand’s excellent children’s playroom: the mezzanine area is suitable for children between the ages of 4-7 (with children under the age of 4 allowed to enter under adult supervision). This includes a colourful soft play area with plenty of obstacles to play with!
The ground floor is open to children aged 8 to 17 and includes bumper cars, mini golf, and a mirror and laser maze. The Grand also offers transport to and from the airport for all guests, to ensure a seamless entry to a fun-filled family vacation.

Really? The hotel zone faces East to the Caribbean. The sun sets in the west.
