Additionally, the Mexican newspaper, El Financiero, reported that the next cheapest days to buy tickets are Saturdays and Mondays.
Booking Trips in Advance
Although cheap flights can often be found last minute it makes planning for a vacation difficult so most people book in advance. The question is, how far in advance should you book your flights? According to El Financiero, booking between one and three months in advance will get you the most savings, particularly if you use discount alerts through sites like Kayak, Hopper, or Skyscanner.
Google Flights Search and Updates
Finally, one of the best ways to save money on airline tickets for your next Cancun vacation is by using Google flights. You can do a search for specific dates if you know when you want to travel and the search will provide you with the prices for those dates as well as others. To save even more money, though, particularly if you are flexible with dates or are planning well in advance, you can use the price updates feature that will notify you when prices go below a certain dollar amount.
Currently, nonstop tickets for flights to Cancun from some cities can be found for less than $200 for some dates through the rest of 2022. From Orlando, for example, there are $169 tickets for dates in September, October, November, and December. And you can possibly save even more by booking packages, which will allow you to save on your accommodations too.
