The Mexican Caribbean is not a stranger to the AMR Collection brand, with multiple properties located in and around Cancun and the Riviera Maya, and now two more properties are on their way.  The two new Secrets resorts are already in the works, with one scheduled to open at the end of this year and one by next summer.  Secrets Impressions Isla Mujeres has a scheduled opening date of December 1, and Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club is scheduled to open on June 30, 2023.

Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres is a small island, only five miles long, not far from Cancun, that visitors can get to by taking a taxi or bus to the ferry terminal and then taking a 15-minute ferry ride.  It is a quieter, more traditional Mexican beach town with quaint city streets and beautiful beaches.  One of the biggest attractions in the area is the Underwater Museum of Art which features hundreds of underwater sculptures.

The new Secrets Impressions Isla Mujeres will be a boutique-style, cliffside all-inclusive resort for adults only with some fantastic amenities.  It will feature around seven restaurants ranging from casual to fine dining, and multiple bars on the resort property.  Accommodations at Secrets Impressions consist of more than 100 super luxurious suites with breathtaking landscapes and ocean views that all come with private butler service.

The spa at the Secrets Impressions Isla Mujeres resort will be state of the art and offer a variety of unique treatments such as a floatarium therapy, and hammam therapy, which uses hot steam to encourage total relaxation.  There are also four individual infinity oceanfront pools on the property, one a rooftop pool with a bar.  In addition, guests will be able to enjoy a water slide and a hot tub that accommodates up to 30 people.

Tulum is a little less than two hours away from Cancun and has only about half of the population, so it is a bit more like a quintessential beach town.  Currently, visitors can fly into Cancun and then take a taxi to the town for around $65.00 if booked in advance, but the town itself is supposed to be getting its own airport in the future.  The biggest attractions in the area are the ancient Mayan ruins and the local cenotes.

The new Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club will also be an adults-only resort located in the heart of Tulum.  It will have a jungle theme and circular buildings designed by an award-winning architect.  The property will also feature pools styled after the much-loved cenotes in the area, with some connected by a lazy river, in addition to a rooftop swim-up bar.

While there is little information on the final plans for the Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club, the property is expected to have approximately 300 elegant suits.  The rooms on the first level will have their own swim-out pools surrounded by flora that will make guests feel like they’re in the jungle.  The property will also feature a Secrets Spa by Pevonia, yoga and meditation areas, a beach club, multiple restaurants, and gourmet cooking classes.

Secrets resorts are known for offering supreme luxury and ultra-romantic properties with world-class amenities.  There are many resorts to choose from in and around Cancun, and these two additions to the area’s offerings are in line with what visitors have come to expect in the Mexican Caribbean.  Beautiful beaches, luxurious accommodations, amazing amenities, and lifelong memories.
