Here are seven beautiful hidden beaches located in or near Cancun.

Playa Langosta

Langosta carries a tranquil and quiet atmosphere through its soothing waters and small population of visitors. Tourists can embark on a relaxing walk along the beach while witnessing views of the sunset. 

Tide pools and rocks are spread out, allowing visitors to relax and take a soak in the sun.

If experienced, grab a surfboard and enjoy the incredible waves of the ocean with breaks located left and right.

Puerto Morelos

Travel only 25 minutes south of Cancun’s international airport in order to uncover this hidden beach. Puerto Morelos is different from other beaches in the state due to its tranquil and less crowded location. 

The diverse site contains multinational residents, and ecotourism activities such as bicycle tours, jungle canopy zip lining, and cenote diving nearby.

Punta Brava 

Find optimal relaxation on this beautiful site located in the heart of the Mexican Caribbean, just 30 minutes away from Cancun. Beaches and virgin coves can be uncovered throughout this area, which features a combination of exciting land and water activities like golf, horseback riding, canoeing and jeep safaris. 

Observe the stunning ocean views or spend the night at one of the nearby bars, pubs, or restaurants.

Playa Del Secreto 

Warm turquoise waters and soft sand is a given when visiting this gorgeous beach located around 35 minutes south of Cancun.

Playa Maroma

This less crowded beach is located between Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen and holds a renowned title through its coves of fresh clear waters which are ideal for taking a dive or snorkel session in. Explore deep waters filled with colorful reefs and friendly dolphins. 

Expand your journey and take a stroll to “Tres Ríos Nature Park, where you’ll uncover more natural delight through rivers and cenotes filled with fresh crystal water.

Punta Bete

This calm seas beach is a perfect attraction for frequent snorkelers as the reef is located extremely close to the coast. The tranquil site is 4 kilometers north of Playa del Carmen and offers cabañas for rent and campsites on its beach for a unique full night experience.

During your visit, eat from one of the local restaurants where grilled lobster is a popular dish and eye catching scenery is spotted all around.

Xcalacoco 

Travel just a few miles from Playa Del Carmen to reach this stunning destination. This white sand beach contains beautiful Mayan ruins available to explore. Camping is common among the site, where services like showers and restrooms are easily accessible. 

No need to bring your own food, quaint restaurants can be located on site where delicious dishes such as grilled garlic fish and the state’s popular Tikin-Xic Fish is available.
