What Are The New Features?
It comes with the exciting news that they are updating the premises to emphasize its Mayan culture and Mexican heritage by collaborating with local designers and artisans – the renovations are being handled by Tara Bernard, a renowned international designer.
The hotel’s original character will be retained and enhanced. Its elegant and contemporary design will bring warmth to the aesthetic and will really help guests feel right at home as soon as they arrive.
What’s really cool is that they are using indigenous materials to create an authentic and timeless look for the hotel.
There will also be somewhat of a seamless flow from the inside out, with curved lines and organic forms inspired by the surrounding jungle.

The spa will also be a key feature in the renovations, with each treatment room overlooking the jungle.
The resort will feature local design elements and geometric shapes, creating a really beautiful immersive experience. The pools have also been redesigned with handmade tiles from volcanic stone, which will be a vibrant turquoise color reminiscent of the ever-so-popular cenotes of Riviera Maya.
The Maroma is taking wellness to a whole new level with the launch of the first Guerlain Spa in Latin America — you will be able to feel the flow of healing energies from the jungle and the wide open ocean.

There are 72 accommodations that will be spread across Maroma’s private stretch of white sandy beaches, and 75% of the rooms will include a stunning ocean view, including 10 new waterfront suites, accompanied by private pools and gardens.

Mexican-born chef Daniel Camacho has curated a sustainable and authentic gastronomic experience for the guests, where 90% of the ingredients will be sourced from Mexico, and almost half will be locally sourced from the Yucatan Peninsula.
Freshly caught seafood will be provided from Amigos de Sian Ka’an as well.
He has created colorful dishes, ranging from seafood towers, Jalisco-style Birria, and even a delicious chocolate cake with Oaxacan black mole, flamed with house mezcal – sounds delicious!
Perfect for sunsets, Bambuco will offer a more casual bar experience, with seasonal herbal drinks, Mexican wines, tequila-based cocktails, and a mouth-wateringly selection of Mezcal.
Freddy’s Bar will be the ultimate beach hangout for you, filled with live music, DJ sets, and fresh seafood.
You are not short of activities at the resort either; if you’re keen on snorkeling or scuba diving, then you can spend your days marveling at the beautiful marine life the Yucatan Peninsula has to offer.
