Why Cancun Is The Best International Destination For This Luxurious Travel Trend

Ever since the pandemic came to an ‘unofficial’ end, people all over the world have been taking it upon themselves to book some of the most incredible trips ever, in fear that one day they might end up in another lockdown for some new pandemic and will never be able to travel again.

The thought of that may strike fear into your soul and that perhaps explains why luxury travel is becoming trendier than ever, with people ‘revenge vacationing’ for their time lost from just a couple of years ago.

For Americans, Cancun still stands out as the place to be, and is having an incredible year in both the tourism and luxury travel sector, with demand showing no signs of slowing down any time soon.

Quality Assured

If COVID taught us anything, it is that life can change within a blink of an eye.

With that in mind, people are more willing to spend a little extra on the vacation of a lifetime and all the benefits that come with it.

An affiliate with Travel Experts, Holly Lombardo, has noticed there has been a sharp rise in bucket-list trips when assisting families in booking their vacations, stating “I’m not even sure I would call it ‘bucket list’ travel so much as ‘why wait’ travel”.

Cancun has seen luxury investment soar, with five-star all-inclusive hotel openings becoming a regular occurrence in the popular hotspot.

Free from the stresses of being in an unfamiliar area and having to spend money on eating out at different restaurants every single night, these resorts have everything from endless gourmet eateries to a plethora of pools and beach bars, as well as private beach access and luxury spa amenities.

These hotels also have 24-hour security surveillance, giving their guests peace of mind and free to enjoy boundless luxury for their entire stay.

Luxury For The Young And Old

Luxury travel doesn’t seem to only be accessible to the older generation anymore who get to spend their retirement on these fabulous trips.

The demographic has changed, with families in their late 30s and early 40s looking for that slice of luxury adventure, and the Mexican Caribbean has exactly what they are looking for.

With hotel giants such as the Hilton and Hyatt firmly cementing their presence in the luxury accommodation market in Cancun, as well as smaller, luxury boutique options and even some stunning private vacation rentals on offer, the market is ever-changing and keen to adapt quickly to the needs of tourists.

As younger travelers enter the luxury market, businesses will need to change who they are marketing themselves to, as younger visions of luxury certainly differ from older ones.

That can only be good news for you, as no matter where you choose to stay and what you choose to do, a hint of luxury will always be close at hand.

Endless Fun

As more and more tourists flock to the Mexican Caribbean looking for the vacation of a lifetime and keen for “bragging rights” when they return home, the government has been growing and expanding services and attractions so there can be life beyond lazing on the pristine, white sandy beaches of the coast.

Archeological and environmental zones have seen growing popularity, with the infamous Chichén Itzá opening another section of its site called Chichén Viejo, which had been previously closed to visitors for decades.

Cenotes are another popular attraction, and Cancun is close to many of them.

Cenotes are essentially open-air sinkholes containing water and are believed to have been used during ancient Maya times as a place for ceremonial offerings to the Gods.

Truly a natural spectacle, these stunning sinkholes vary in shape and size, and are the perfect thing to explore when you’re looking to escape that hot Mexican sun, and take some really cool Instagram photos while you’re at it.

Some notable cenotes are Cenote Azul, Cenote Dos Ojos and Cenote Jardin del Eden; be sure to check them out!

Cancun really is the center of the tourist experience in the Mexican Caribbean, which means there are lots of cool places and things that surround it which are not too difficult to get to.

Isla Mujeres is just a short ferry ride away from the popular hotspot, and boasts stunning, luxury beaches that look like something out of a postcard, as well as offering incredible water activities and exceptional accommodation options.

Valladolid is a ‘magical town’ not too far away from Cancun and has been given the title for its historical significance, boasting some incredible architecture and mouthwatering cuisine that have people flocking to it all year round.

So with all that in mind, when are you booking your next ‘revenge’ vacation and just how luxurious do you want it to be?
