Hilton Announces 2 Major Resorts In Riviera Maya Converting To All-Inclusives

Share The Article

It looks like more and more travelers prefer all-inclusives in Cancun and the Riviera Maya. For decades, high end travelers looking for five star brand prestige had to accept paying out of pocket for every single cocktail, coffee, and gourmet dinner. Meanwhile, traditional all inclusive resorts often carried the reputation of buffet lines and watered down drinks.

That old divide is officially disappearing. Hilton has made a groundbreaking move by transitioning two of its most prestigious properties in the Mexican Caribbean into full luxury all inclusive resorts.

Hilton Announces 2 Major Resorts In Riviera Maya Converting To All-Inclusives

Starting October 1, 2026, both the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya and the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya officially adopted an all inclusive model. This historic transition marks the absolute first time either brand has ever operated an all inclusive resort anywhere in the world. Here is everything travelers need to know about the new format, the upcoming adults-only changes, and what is included in your stay.

Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya

A Major Shift In High End Luxury Travel

Affluent vacationers are viewing luxury through a completely different lens. Modern travelers do not want the friction of constantly signing room charges, calculating gratuities, or deciding whether to splurge on an extra poolside cocktail. The goal today is effortless relaxation without sacrificing five star quality.

Hilton recognized this massive demand and decided to bring its top tier hospitality into the all inclusive space. Instead of cutting corners, the properties are taking their existing high end culinary concepts, bespoke wellness programs, and personalized concierge teams and wrapping them into one seamless rate. Guests get the peace of mind that comes with an all inclusive stay, combined with the refined service and attention to detail that Waldorf Astoria and Conrad are globally known for.

Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya Goes Adults-Only

The Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya features 173 lavish oceanfront rooms and suites nestled along a secluded stretch of coastline just south of Cancun. While the resort officially switched to an all inclusive format on October 1, 2026, an even bigger operational shift is coming right around the corner.

Starting January 10, 2027, the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya will transition into a strictly adults-only sanctuary for guests aged 18 and older. The resort is designed for couples, honeymooners, and solo travelers seeking complete quiet, personalized wellness, and chef driven gastronomy.

Every guest receives dedicated personal concierge service to organize daily itineraries, spa appointments, and private dinners before arrival. Culinary offerings remain a major highlight, featuring live fire cooking and tableside carving at Malpeque, traditional Mexican tasting menus at Chaya, agave discovery carts at JA’O, and afternoon tea inside the iconic Peacock Alley.

What Happens To Existing Family Bookings?

Because the Waldorf Astoria was previously a multi generational family property, many travelers already held existing bookings extending well into next year. Hilton confirmed that all current reservations will be fully honored under the terms confirmed at booking.

However, there is one critical exception. Reservations that include guests under the age of 18 with arrival dates on or after January 10, 2027 cannot stay on the property due to the new adults-only policy. The resort management team is actively contacting affected guests to coordinate alternative luxury accommodations across Hilton’s portfolio and provide personalized booking assistance.

Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya Launches The Ceiba Club

Further south along the coast, the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya sits along a secluded bay where the tropical jungle meets the Caribbean Sea. Unlike the Waldorf Astoria, the Conrad will remain a vibrant, multi generational resort welcoming families, groups, and guests of all ages.

To give adults their own quiet retreat within the larger complex, the resort will officially launch the Ceiba Club on January 10, 2027. This dedicated adults-only section will feature private lounge spaces, exclusive pool and beach areas, and private access to Autor, a Michelin recognized restaurant serving contemporary Mexican cuisine.

Families will still find plenty of spaces to enjoy. The property features the fully included MYTHOS World kids club, offering nature guided activities, stargazing evenings, and modern Mayan storytelling. This split layout gives parents the freedom to relax at the spa while younger travelers enjoy supervised outdoor adventures.

VIP Inclusions And Airport Transfers

Both properties are including high value perks that extend far beyond typical all inclusive packages. Guests can enjoy 24 hour in room dining, custom daily refreshed minibars, and curated cultural workshops covering everything from Mayan breathwork and sound healing to watercolor painting and mezcal mixology.

For travelers staying four consecutive nights or longer on eligible direct bookings, Hilton is offering one complimentary signature excursion or wellness experience per stay. Options include private cenote tours at Vesica, family passes to the Xel-Ha eco adventure park, or custom hydrotherapy spa circuits.
