Cancun heads into the 2024 high season with a renewed luxury appeal thanks to the opening of several high-end resorts that are attracting the attention of travelers across the globe, particularly the U.S.
Although Cancun has always been highly regarded by discerning travelers, the most prominent new resort openings have occurred in destinations like Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum.
But this year, at least three new Cancun resorts are making waves with travelers, offering quintessential Caribbean vibes.
From ocean views to luxurious rooms, Cancun’s new resorts are ready to accommodate even the most challenging guests.
With that in mind, here’s a look at three Cancun resorts that travelers are excited for this high season.
Hyatt Vivid Grand Island
This sleek brand-new Cancun resort offers a bold recipe for luxury travel with its hip all-inclusive offerings. For starters, the 400-room resort features a modern design with two towering complexes sitting over the massive Nichupté lagoon.
Offering peace and quiet, this adults-only property is just 15 minutes from Cancun International Airport, yet is a world apart from the hustle and bustle of the city’s resort area.
Guests can look forward to 10 restaurants and 6 bars serving up both casual and elegant options. But where Hyatt Vivid Grand Island truly shines is its entertainment offerings, with live music, pool volleyball, and an exclusive beach club among its many key amenities.
Despite some hiccups following the grand opening of the resort earlier this year, Hyatt Vivid Grand Island promises to deliver guests a seamless all-inclusive experience unlike any other.
For the upcoming season, the resort is already seeing occupancy rates of well over 80%, as bookings continue to skyrocket.
Secrets Playa Blanca
Another trendy Cancun resort to look out for is Secrets Playa Blanca. A Hyatt property, this 5-star resort takes luxury to new heights with its exclusive beachfront location along Costa Mujeres, a booming new resort district just 10 miles north of Cancun.
Boasting 500 modern suites, this sprawling complex boasts a unique design featuring local art & decor, giving it an inviting tropical feel from the get go.
While all of its rooms are beautifully appointed, the Junior Suite Swim Out accommodations are sure to make a lasting impression thanks to gorgeous ocean views.
Aside from its stylish rooms, the resort offers Hyatt’s famed Unlimited Luxury all-inclusive model, featuring access to a range of amenities including day and night entertainment in some of the most pristine surroundings.
Situated in Costa Mujeres, the resort is an ideal choice for those seeking a calm retreat amid azure waters & white-sand beaches.
AVA Cancun
No recap of Cancun’s newest 2024 resorts is complete without mentioning the massive AVA Cancun. This 1,600-room property is by far the largest of Cancun’s newest resorts and offers much more than meets the eye.
Offering a refreshing take on all-inclusive luxury, this newly-opened 5-star resort guarantees ocean views from each of its suites.
And with a selection of over 17 restaurants and a handful of nightlife venues, travelers will struggle to tick off everything this massive resort has to offer.
Some of its standout features include a whopping 66,000-square-foot spa and beauty treatment wing and the cutting-edge 2.8-acre AVA Bay, an artificial lagoon ideal for family-friendly activities.
While the resort may not be suitable for those seeking a quiet intimate stay, it is undoubtedly one of the more ambitious hospitality projects to date in Cancun.
