Why Cancun Is So Popular
Cancun is typically viewed as a beach vacation destination because it has amazing white sand beaches and crystal-clear aqua-blue waters, but it’s more than that.
It’s in close proximity to several fascinating ancient Mayan ruins, surrounded by hundreds of natural swimming holes, and just steps from the lush Mayan jungle.
To top it all off, there are numerous other nearby amazing destinations to enjoy, like Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, Tulum, and Merida.
Cancun’s Extensive Airport Connectivity
Another factor that contributes to Cancun’s huge influx of tourists is its airport’s extensive connectivity with other countries, particularly the U.S. and Canada.
There are currently direct flights to Cancun from a total of 129 airports worldwide, located in 28 different countries.
Nearly half of those airports are in the United States in Canada, with the U.S. having 43 airports with direct flights to the destination and Canada with 21.
Attractions To Visit In Cancun
There are literally hundreds of attractions to see outside of Cancun, but plenty to see right in Cancun too.
The El Rey Archeological Zone, the Interactive Aquarium, theme parks, unique shopping experiences, endless beaches, and more are just steps from the famed Hotel Zone.
Additionally, directly across from Cancun’s mainland is the island paradise of Isla Mujeres, which is home to the fascinating Underwater Museum of Art, so you don’t have to go far to have fun in Cancun.
Cancun’s Huge Inventory Of Luxury All-Inclusives
Cancun’s huge inventory of luxury all-inclusives is also one of the things that draw millions of tourists to the destination every year too.
There are dozens of properties to choose from, ranging from family and budget-friendly to luxurious and adult-only.
Many travelers visiting the destination opt for an all-inclusive due to their convenience, value, and safety.
An all-inclusive resort could be the perfect option for your Cancun vacation, too, as it is for so many others who visit this ninth-most visited destination on Earth.
