New St. Regis Resort Coming To Costa Mujeres

There are a lot of top-notch luxury hotels in the Riviera Maya region, and the area is about to get one more with the new St. Regis Resort that is coming to Costa Mujeres.  The new Marriott International, Inc. St. Regis branded resort is expected to open its doors in 2025 to receive its first guests at the 158-room, 80-private residential unit property.  The resort will be located north of Cancun, about 35 minutes from Cancun International Airport.

Marriott International is partnering with AB Living on the project, and the company has expressed its excitement about expanding the brand in the popular vacation destination.  Chief Development Officer of Marriott International, Laurent De Kousemaeker, commented on the partnership, saying that they are “thrilled to work with AB Living to introduce The St. Regis brand to Costa Mujeres, Cancun’s exciting new side of town.”  Costa Mujeres is a more secluded area close enough to Cancun to still allow visitors to enjoy all that it has to offer.

Cancun and Isla Mujeres

Cancun is currently one of the world’s most popular vacation destinations, and numerous luxury brands are present throughout Cancun and the Riviera Maya region. At least a few new resorts have been added to the list of 100 or more hotels and resorts in Cancun this year.  And even more are to come next year, as it is a highly sought market for the best of the best in the hotel industry.

The Vice President and Global Brand Leader of St. Regis Hotels & Resorts made reference to the popularity of the destination and the company’s thoughts on opening the property.  He stated that the company is “thrilled to expand St. Regis’ footprint in Mexico,” and that they “look forward to bringing the brand’s celebrated rituals and traditions to this vibrant and sought-after destination for future guests.”  This will be the third St. Regis Resort property in Mexico, and is the second to be on the “opening soon” list, with a new property also in the works in Los Cabos.

Isla Mujeres Beach

The new St. Regis will sit on a piece of land that is more than 8.5 acres and will have spectacular views of Cancun and Isla Mujeres.  Isla Mujeres is a small island, only about five miles in length and less than a mile wide, that sits off of the coast of Cancun and can be reached by a 15-minute ferry ride.  The island is known for its beautiful beaches, laid-back atmosphere, and some great attractions, like the Underwater Museum of Art.

Guests at the new St. Regis will have easy access to Isla Mujeres, with its close proximity to the island, but the St. Regis property itself will have plenty to keep guests busy.  It will have its own beach and a fabulous beach club.  In addition to being able to spend days soaking up the sun on a nearly perfect Caribbean beach, guests will also have access to multiple swimming pools on the property.

Costa Mujeres

The St. Regis Costa Mujeres will also boast three different dining and beverage establishments.  It will offer its signature butler service as well.  The residences will have their own fitness center, a concierge, and their own private elevator, and will have access to all of the amenities offered by the resort.

While an exact date for opening has not been set yet, travelers can expect to start making reservations at the St. Regis Costa Mujeres in 2025.  Until then, Cancun has plenty of luxury resorts to choose from for the perfect Mexican Caribbean vacation.
