Tulum, one of the fastest-growing destinations in the Mexican Caribbean, will soon have a massive new resort adjacent to the city’s Maya Train station amid projections showing a huge growth in arrival figures.
The brand-new 352-room property is one of six new resorts that will launch along the 1,500-kilometer-long railway system, intended to provide travelers with convenient and affordable accommodations.
But unlike several of the other properties along the Maya Train route, Tulum’s new Hotel Tulum Tren Maya will feature state-of-the-art amenities and countless outdoor facilities, making this one of the most stunning upcoming resort projects in town.
With interest in Tulum set to skyrocket over the coming months, here’s the latest on Tulum’s new Maya Train property.
New Tulum Resort To Provide Easy Access To Maya Train Attractions
The southward expansion of the Maya Train towards Tulum is nearly complete, with work on the project expected to wrap up by mid-September.
The city’s new train station will pave the way for faster and easier travel to Quintana Roo’s premier cultural and historical destination, known for its massive Mayan ruins, including the vast Tulum Archeological Zone.
With more travelers set to flock to experience Tulum’s coastal vibes and historic charm, officials are reading the new Hotel Tren Maya Tulum, a 352-room property rivaling many of the city’s existing resorts.
Situated within the new Jaguar National Park, the expansive property occupies a strategic location among Tulum’s key attractions.
A mere two kilometers from the new Tulum Maya Train station, the 4-star property is just a stone’s throw away from the coastline as well as Tulum’s main Mayan ruins.
Travelers will also be able to access the verdant rainforests of Tulum’s newest national park, making this one of the most eco-friendly hotels in terms of design and integration with the surrounding landscape.
According to Blas Jordán, the executive overseeing the construction of the new resorts, workers have planted up to 10,000 new trees around the Hotel Tren Maya Tulum, creating a serene atmosphere that encourages guests to relax and unwind.
Mr Jordán also added that the hotel is set to be inaugurated on September 7, a week prior to the launching of the southern section of the Maya Train.
With over 75% of the new property already built, it’s highly likely the project will conclude on time.
Although not strictly an all-inclusive property, the huge hotel offers many of the amenities found in similar large properties, including outdoor pools, bars, restaurants, and a spa.
Featuring a Mayan-inspired exterior design and rich furnishings, travelers will find plenty of unique elements within the large property.
Guests can also look forward to a temazcal – a Mayan-style sauna, as well as concierge services to assist visitors in making the most of their stay in one of the most historical destinations in the region.
Tulum’s Maya Train Hotel is one of six upcoming properties being built along the railway project. A similar albeit smaller property is also close to completion in Chichen Itzá, with hotels also set to open in Campeche, Palenque, and Nuevo Uxmal.
Tulum is set to benefit massively from the new railway project, which will make reaching the coastal destination a breeze. From day trips from Cancun to longer stays, travelers are eagerly awaiting the time and cost-saving benefits of the new Maya Train.
Although the project is still under construction, travelers can keep an eye on the official Maya Train website for information about new tickets. With demand expected to skyrocket, travelers should book in advance to secure better prices & availability.
