Cancun and the Riviera Maya are home to dozens of exceptional all-inclusive resorts, famous for their combination of luxury and lush natural surroundings.
However, a select few of these world-class resorts stand out thanks to their superior offerings in terms of service, amenities, and sheer beauty.
One such resort is the St. Regis Kanai Resort by Marriott, recently honored as one of the world’s top 100 resorts at the AHEAD 2023 Awards, along with other 4 resorts in Mexico.
Conveniently located between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, St. Regis Kanai is celebrated for its stunning surroundings, just by the Sian Ka’an reserve and its glamorous suites inspired by Mayan architecture.
The prestigious recognition by Sleeper, a leading publication in the hospitality industry, comes after careful deliberation by an expert panel comprising architects, interior designers, hoteliers, and industry commentators.
When you consider that the resort just opened earlier this year, added to the number of magnificent resorts you can find in the region, it becomes clear that this achievement is nothing short of impressive.

The Perfect Blend Of Luxury & Nature
The fusion of luxury and sustainability, the quintessential ideal of a Mexican Caribbean resort, comes to life at the St. Regis Kanai Resort.
Crafted by architecture studio Edmonds International, the avant-garde design of the resort seamlessly integrates interlocking circular shapes into a mangrove forest, drawing inspiration from Mayan cosmology, specifically the Pleiades star cluster.

When designing the resort, Edmonds International went above and beyond to ensure minimal impact on the delicate mangrove ecosystem, using prefabricated elements and working closely with local environmental authorities.
Internationally acclaimed firm Chapi Chapo Design handled the resort’s interiors, following the philosophy of harmonizing architecture with nature.
Throughout the resort’s 124 suites, lobby, and various spaces, the design draws inspiration from both the resort’s natural surroundings and local architecture, employing materials such as walnut and limestone.
