30% Of All Flights From U.S. To Mexico Go To Cancun, Here’s Why

It’s no surprise that Americans love Cancun; that fact is backed up by the evidence of millions of travelers flying from the U.S. to the popular vacation destination every year.   

But it may be a little shocking to find out just how much of Mexico’s annual flight traffic that comes from the United States goes to the Mexican Caribbean tourist hotspot.   

New reports show that an astonishing 30 percent of all flights from the U.S. to Mexico go to Cancun, and we’ll tell you why.

One of the biggest reasons for Cancun’s success as a vacation destination for Americans is the great connectivity to Cancun Airport from U.S. airports.   

Currently, there are direct flights being offered from 40 different airports in the United States.   

Many of these airports even offer multiple flights to Cancun every day, like Houston, for example, where three airlines offer flights on a daily basis.   

Those airlines are Frontier, Spirit, and United.

Beaches 

The dazzling white sand that stretches for miles is only part of why Cancun’s beaches are some of the best in the world.   

Add to that the crystal clear aqua-blue water filled with beautiful tropical fish, and you have the perfect setting for what vacation dreams are made of.

Nature 

Something that kind of falls into the activity category but deserves a category all its own is the nature that can be found in Cancun.   

The Mayan jungle can be found throughout the region. There are hundreds of cenotes in the area that visitors can take a dip in, underground rivers to explore, and a reef that is part of the second largest in the world.
