Here are 5 photo op hot spots in Isla Mujeres to check out while you’re on the island.

Avenida Hidalgo

Avenida Hidalgo is basically the nightlife hot spot of Isla Mujeres, as the liveliest pedestrian zone of the island – if you want some epic nighttime photography, this is the spot. Take a leisurely stroll through the bump and grind of these streets once the sun goes down and you’ll be amazed at some of the photo op’s you get. As you take a stroll down this street, you’ll be given the opportunity to eat, dance, drink, laugh and shoot your heart out! Check out some of TripAdvisor’s favorite spots to stop along the way, here.

North Beach

Isla Mujeres famous North Beach is a perfect spot to get some of the best photo ops on the island. The location wraps around the island northeastern corner and gives tourists quite the extensive sugar sand beaches and turquoise waters to take advantage of. The shallow waters on the shoreline make for a perfect opportunity to take a little wander out into the water to take pictures of the shoreline with ease. North beach is also one of the only spots on the island (and in Mexico) that you can fully soak up the sunset sunshine and get some really epic shots while you do so.

Punta Sur Cliffs

Just past Garrafon Park and its Lookout Point is the entrance to Punta Sur, which marks the most eastern point in Mexico. This spot is specifically known for being the spot that people gather on new years eve in order to witness the first sunrise of the New year (How epic is that?!). Because of this it has been nicknamed “Cliff of the dawn.” At 65 feet above sea-level, this is also the highest elevation in the Yucatan.

Garrafon Lookout Point

While scrolling through copious amounts of photos of Isla Mujeres, you’ve probably seen multiple pictures of the zip lines over the turquoise-toned ocean, on the picturesque Cancun skyline. This iconic photo op hot spot is location on the western shores of the island. There is plenty of room to park your golf cart and also plenty of options to cool down here with ice cream and coconut water vendors a plenty.
