Cancun is known for having some of the best beaches and nightlife on the planet.  With big name DJs that spin until the sun comes up, as well as a plethora of really incredible live bands that have a wide spread selection of genres – there is almost always somewhere to catch some live music here. Let me share with you 5 of the top rated places to enjoy live music in Cancun.

Sirenas Raw Bar

Sirenas Raw bar is located at El Embarcadero next to the Calinda Bridge. It is home to a perfect view of the Caribbean sea and the pirate ships that dock there. Previous guests say that they cook up a mean pizza which has made it a favorite stop for many who are preparing to travel by ferry to Isla Mujeres. Sirenas Rar Bar features live Salsa music on Fridays and many locals gather here to hear the Cuban Buena Vista-style band that plays from around 11:00 pm to 1:00 am.

McCarthy’s Irish Pub

Rated one of the top 10 pubs in all of Cancun, McCarthy’s Irish pub has made a very good reputation for itself with its live rock bands almost every night of the week as well as for serving up some awesome chicken wings! Located in the hotel zone which makes it very accessible for travelers. McCarthy’s also carries beer from Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, the US, the Czech Republic, Germany, Cuba, Denmark, China, Argentina, England and of course Mexico!

Grand Mambo Cafe

Grand Mambo Cafe is the number one spot to dance Salsa, Merengue and Bachata in Cancun. Located in Plaza Hong Kong, Mambo Cafe features live music Wednesday through Saturday. There are plenty of opportunities to earn yourself a free bottle of tequila, rum or vodka – especially if you’re there celebrating your birthday. Doors open at 10:30 pm and there is live music every night – the party doesn’t typically end until after 3 am.

Senor Frogs

Around 9 pm this family-friendly restaurant turns into a bar/nightclub. Conga lines, balloons, confetti and craziness are the norm here. Senor Frogs sure knows how to throw a party. They feature glow parties on Sunday nights, foam parties on Wednesdays. There’s reggae nights, latin nights and many other themed nights to choose from. Senor frogs can bring comfort to a party atmosphere by maintaining consistency regardless of which location you’re at.

Coco Bongo

At the classic and well loved Coco Bongo, the whole building is a dancefloor. Live bands and impersonators of timeless favorites regularly hit the stage here. From 70’s rock classics all the way to salsa – there is something here for everyone at some point during the week. Many love that their cover charge includes an open bar and that you can rent tables on higher levels that overlook the main floor. Many resorts give the option of booking an “excursion” here which can simplify transportation and take a little guesswork out of things.
