5 Reasons This Cancun Beach Is Outshining the Rest

The iconic number 7-shaped Cancun Hotel Zone has 14 miles of beautiful coastline with at least 11 beaches for tourists to spend their days on while visiting.

Several of them are popular among visitors, including Playa Tortugas, Playa Chac Mool, Playa Marlin, and Playa Langosta, just to name a few.

The most popular beach right now, though, is Playa Delfines.

If you’re heading to the beach in Cancun, here are 5 reasons why this one is getting more visitors than any other, and why you might want to visit it too, but first let’s take a look at how popular this beach is.

Cancun's Most Popular Beach, Playa Delfines, Also Known as Dolphin Beach

Playa Delfines – The Most Popular Beach In Cancun

According to a recent report on how many visitors Cancun’s beaches have had recently, Playa Delfines, also known as Dolphin Beach, has received more visitors than any other beach in the Hotel Zone.

Just between the dates of June 13-19, this popular beach received nearly 7,000 visitors.

Most of these visitors were American tourists.

Here are 5 reasons tourists love Playa Delfines the most.

It’s Cancun’s Largest Beach

One of the reasons beachgoers love Dolphin Beach is because it’s Cancun’s largest beach.

This allows everyone to spread out and have space while enjoying the beach, which makes it seem less crowded as well.

The expansive beach is covered with soft white sand that seems to stretch for as far as the eye can see.

Free Palapas To Use

Not many things are free these days, especially when it comes to vacationing, but at Playa Defines there are free palapas to use.

These thatched roof palapas are a great way to get some shade if you’re spending the day on the beach on a hot summer day.

They are offered on a first come first serve basis though.

Plenty Of Beach Vendors

There are no restaurants on Dolphin Beach, but there are plenty of vendors offering a wide variety of food and beverage items.

Fruit, baked goods, soft drinks, and water bottles are just a few of the food and drink items you can buy from vendors on the beach.

Typically, there are also vendors selling other items as well, like hats, souvenirs, and handmade jewelry.

No High Rise Hotels

Perhaps the thing that beachgoers love the most about Cancun’s Dolphin Beach is the lack of high-rise hotels on it.

Most of the Hotel Zone beaches sit in front of sprawling resorts and are filled with hotel guests.

To get to this beach, though, most visitors drive and park or take a bus.

Beautiful Views Of Cancun

The lack of hotels on Playa Defines, combined with its prime location, provides for amazing views of Cancun.

Visitors can enjoy 360-degree views of the beach and surrounding area up and down the Hotel Zone.

While other beaches in Cancun have great views too, none are quite as beautiful as the views you can enjoy on this particular beach.

Hotels Near Playa Delfines

While there are no hotels on Dolphin Beach, there are several that are close to Cancun’s #1 beach hotspot.

A number of these hotels are less than a mile from this popular beach.

The Emporio Cancun All-Inclusive Optional, the Royal Solaris Cancun, the Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe All-Inclusive, and the Iberostar Selection Cancun all fall into this category and are highly-rated hotels.

While all of these hotels have their own beaches, Playa Delfines is close enough to visit if you want a less crowded beach during your Cancun vacation.
