The Cancun region is quickly becoming an important spot for world class events to take place. For a while the Tulum area has played host to electronic music festivals that have taken advantage of the beautiful Tulum beaches to host massive events. This year perhaps the biggest music festival that has ever taken place in the region will arrive in the form of Core Tulum presented by Tomorrowland.
It’s not just music festivals though that are going to be taking place on Cancun area beaches. The post COVID era and the growing English-speaking population in the region has prompted an internationally renowned comedy festival to take place at one of Cancun’s most popular all inclusive resorts. There’s essentially something for everyone this winter in Cancun. Here are 5 of the most anticipated events that will be taking place this winter.
Tomorrowland Presents Core Tulum
As we mentioned this is arguably the most anticipated event that’s set to take place in the region within the coming months. It’s actually going to be only a one-day event with 3 different stages all in the Tulum jungle that will feature a variety of artists. The tickets and travel packages for this event that is set to take place on January 14th are almost all sold out. Out of the high-end travel packages that were put on sale for the event only the inside stage travel package that includes 2 nights at the Motto by Hilton hotel is available.
Playing In The Sand 2023
For travelers who are looking for a more relaxed type of music festival, Playing In The Sand may just be the best option for them. The festival is going to be headlined by John Mayer and will be taking place at the Moon Palace arena in Cancun. Which is the venue that’s getting ready to host many of the music festivals that will take place in the region throughout 2023. This event will take place from the 14th to the 17th of January. Oddly enough tickets don’t seem to be actively on sale yet. There’s a waiting list available to purchase travel packages though.
Laugh Out Loud (LOL) Comedy Experience At The Royalton Splash Riviera
Travelers and locals who want to have a good laugh instead of heading out to a music festival could really enjoy the Laugh Out Loud (LOL) Comedy Experience. This again is set to be a multi day experience from the 16th to the 20th of February headlined by Emmanuel Hudson and Zoie from Nick Cannon’s Wild N’ Out. All throughout the event though different styles of comedians are set to grace the stage.
Perhaps the most intriguing concept of this comedy festival is the fact that it’s taking place within the Royalton Splash Riviera resort. Travel packages that include multi-night stays at the resort are being sold for the event. These seem perfect for travelers who want to head over to Cancun and have food, drinks, and entertainment all set up for their entire stay. Locals and tourists who are staying at other Cancun area hotels can purchase tickets just for a particular day.
Luke Bryan’s Crash My Playa 2023
The Moon Palace resort is also going to be playing host to Luke Bryan’s Crash My Playa music festival. The event is going to take place from Thursday, January 19th to Sunday, January 22nd. Friday and Sunday seem to be the days when the event is going to really get going. With Luke Bryan closing the night out on Friday, only to return to the stage on Sunday to close out the entire festival alongside special guest Lionel Richie. Multiple travel packages are also available for this event.
Dave & Tim Riviera Maya 2023
Finally, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds are going to be headlining yet another multi day music festival at the Moon Palace resort. This particular festival is going to be taking place from the 17th to the 19th of February. As is the case with all of the other festivals there are packages available for tourists who want to stay at multiple Cancun resorts which will include tickets to the festival as well as different activities throughout their stay.
