Cozumel has announced they have set up the infrastructure at hotels, clinics and hospitals to provide Covid-19 testing for any traveler that requires it to return home. The Mayor stated that travelers have multiple option to choose from.
New entry requirements that started on January 26th for the United States will require all American travelers returning home to provide proof of a negative Covid-19 antigen test before boarding their flight.
“The test will be administered in Cozumel hotels, clinics, labs and hospitals for tourists who need them, especially those who departing by air. In the event that any visitor is positive, they must comply with the quarantine on the island where there is a hospital infrastructure to attend to visitors.”

Antigen tests that are required for Americans returning home will cost between $300 – $1400 pesos while PCR tests for Canadians and other international travelers will cost between $2400 – $2900 pesos.
The Secretary of tourism announced the list of locations along with an easy to reference chart below of where travelers can get the tests in Cozumel.
“In Mexico, vaccination against Covid-19 has already started, however while this process is completed, we must continue with the protection and care of our health in order to advance in the economic reactivation of tourism on the island,” Stated Mayor Pedro Joaquín Delbouis.
The Mayor added he was confident that because of great cooperation between medical services and tourism businesses, travelers will have no problem getting a test immediately in Cozumel.
