This Wednesday, Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama released a new photograph revealing what the Tulum Maya Train Station will look like once it is completed via Twitter.

According to Governor Lezama, the Tulum Station will be one of the Maya Train’s most beautiful stops.

The images shared on Twitter show open spaces and natural lighting throughout the train station.

Previously, Governor Lezama took to Twitter to show off the future Cancun Maya Train Station.

The Maya Train is a massive Mexican government infrastructure project meant to increase tourism throughout the country’s southeast region.

The train will connect Cancun and Tulum’s tourist hotspots with the country’s interior. Along the way, the train will stop in major cities in Campeche, Chiapas, Yucatan, Tabasco, and Quintana Roo.

In addition, the train will connect Cancun and Tulum to each other.

While each city is a tourist destination, traveling between them has been difficult in the past due to limited transportation options.

However, once the Maya Train opens in December, travel between the hotspots will be more accessible than ever.

In total, the train will have 30 stops that span nearly 1,000 miles across five Mexican states.

Governor Lezama and other authorities are excited about the long-awaited project, which was initially announced in September 2018.

The Impact Of The Maya Train

The Maya Train will drastically change life in the Riviera Maya and has sparked passionate debate throughout Mexico and beyond.

Proponents of the train include political and business leaders, who look forward to economic gains from increased connectivity and tourism revenue.

Governor Lezama is one such proponent of major infrastructure projects aimed at increasing tourism in Quintana Roo.

According to Governor Lezama’s tweet, the Tulum Maya Train Station and the Felipe Carrillo Airport will bring prosperity and development to the people of Quintana Roo.

The southeast of Mexico is historically one of the poorest regions in the country, and its economy is very dependent on tourism.

Many hope that the Maya Train will increase tourism and spark economic development.

The tourism industry in Quintana Roo, particularly Tulum, suffers from a lack of connectivity. While many tourists make their way to Tulum, staying in Cancun, which has an international airport is far easier.

The Felipe Carillo Airport will allow tourists to fly directly to Tulum once completed, and the Maya Train station will allow tourists who fly into Cancun easy access to Tulum.

In addition, the Maya Train will make it easier for tourists to reach destinations outside Quintana Roo.

Cities such as Merida, Campeche, and Bacalar will benefit from additional tourism once the Maya Train is completed.

The Maya Train will increase tourism and population growth in the coming years.

Although this will provide better transportation in the Yucatán, it will also cause more of human impact on the natural state and beauty of the area. More development is not always a good thing. Cancun and the Riviera Maya is already so built up with hotels and resorts. Now they will be going farther into the jungles and taking more land for more developments. Us, as tourists enjoy the natural areas and jungle of the area! Hopefully there will be some jungle left, at least for the wildlife!!
