Research And Choose Location
As with any vacation destination, there are distinctly different areas to stay in when visiting Cancun.
The area with the bulk of the large, all-inclusive resorts and hotels is in the Hotel Zone, the most touristy area of the city.
There’s also downtown Cancun, which is more local but also more budget-friendly, and the Costa Mujeres area, which is perfect for travelers seeking more peace and quiet.
Each of the areas has plenty to offer; it just depends on what you’re looking for.

We’ve heard other stories for other months and other parts of area. We’ve stayed outside the hotel zone and have not had the same experiences of beauty. But this is just our experience. We usually go to Cancun 4 to 5 times a year sometimes more and consistently hotel zone is the cleanest and most beautiful beaches. Oh, and the hotel zone is 15 minutes from the airport.
