Tulum’s brand-new Maya Train Hotel was officially inaugurated this week by the country’s outgoing president, just weeks ahead of the Maya Train system’s completion.
The new 353-room property is situated right next to Tulum’s Maya Train station and just a stone’s throw from key attractions in the booming hotspot, including the historical Archeological Site.
With interest in Tulum set to soar this year, the city’s newest hotel provides a convenient gateway to Tulum’s many historical, natural, and cultural wonders.
Boasting both modern and traditional amenities, the new Hotel Tren Maya Tulum makes an excellent addition to the city’s growing inventory of high-quality accommodations.
With that in mind, here’s everything travelers have to know about Tulum’s new Maya Train Hotel.
352-Room Tren Maya Hotel Tulum To Provide Affordable Accommodation For Adventure-Seeking Travelers
Tulum is one of the fastest-growing resort destinations in the Mexican Caribbean right now.
With the Maya Train set to make the coastal hotspot even more accessible, it is gearing up for a hectic fall and winter season.
Despite being home to dozens of large properties – some of which rank among the best in the region – there simply aren’t enough hotels to keep up with growing arrival volumes.
That’s why officials were excited this week to launch the much-awaited Hotel Tren Maya Tulum, which opened its doors this Friday in a closed inauguration ceremony led by the country’s outgoing president Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
The brand-new property is one of six hotels currently being built along the Maya Train route and is the largest of its sister complexes.
Featuring 352 rooms, from spacious suites to modest twin rooms, the large property ticks all the right boxes.
It offers numerous indoor and outdoor amenities for an unforgettable stay surrounded by history and nature.
Situated within the massive new Jaguar National Park, travelers can peer out to lush rainforests and magnificent Mayan artefacts right from their hotel room.
Unlike many other modern resorts, the Hotel Tren Maya Tulum was specifically designed to transport guests into a world of historical charm thanks to a design that pays homage to Mayan design.
Among the many exciting amenities guests can look forward to are several pools, gardens, a restaurant, and a traditional temazcal (sweat lodge) and spa.
Outside of the resorts, travelers are just two kilometers from Tulum’s famous Archeological site, as well as local beaches.
The property is a short walk away from the city’s upcoming Maya Train station, providing easy access for travelers who want to make the most of their time in Tulum.
Travelers can book a room in the Hotel Tren Maya Tulum online, although last-minute work on the new website is still underway.
Tulum Welcomes Major Investments Amid Growing Travel Numbers
With Tulum poised to become one of the most popular destinations in the Mexican Caribbean, aside from Cancun, the coastal hotspot has seen a number of new tourism initiatives aimed at drawing in more visitors.
Since its launching in late December last year, the state-of-the-art Felipe Carrillo International Airport has linked Tulum to key U.S. airports including Atlanta and Chicago on carriers like Delta and United.
Together with the upcoming opening of the southern track of the Maya Train project, Tulum will become more accessible than ever for travelers from both the mainland U.S. as well as Cancun and other regional tourism hubs.
Despite ongoing construction delays, officials are hopeful that the Maya Train can be fully inaugurated before the start of the busy winter travel season, with more and more travelers aiming to get a glimpse of Tulum’s historical beauty.
