Vacations are expensive, and they’re an expense that many people are willing to budget for, but these days it’s getting even more difficult to afford luxurious vacations.
Everything is more expensive, so budgeting is more important than ever when planning your vacation.
Cancun may not be as expensive a destination as some other popular Mexican vacation destinations, but it’s not cheap either, but there are 5 reasons why a Cancun all-inclusive is still the best budget vacation this winter.
1. Restaurant Prices Up In Cancun
One of the reasons a Cancun all-inclusive is a better budget option this year is the fact that restaurant prices are up quite a bit this year in the popular tourist destination.
According to a recent report, some restaurant prices in Cancun are up nearly 20 percent compared to last year.
By the end of the year, it’s possible that restaurants will increase their prices even more, so it’s difficult to know what to expect.
2. One Price For Everything
An all-inclusive resort takes away from the worry of having to wonder what it’s going to cost to dine out during your Cancun vacation.
You pay for your reservation and that includes your food, drink, and activities along with your accommodations.
All you’ll have to budget for are tipping, and activities and food outside of the resort, if you plan on leaving at all.
3. No Surprises
Having everything included at your all-inclusive resort means no surprises during your vacation.
You don’t have to worry about getting to Cancun and finding out that things are a lot more expensive than you thought.
Since you’ll already have paid for your all-inclusive, there’s not much left to budget for.
4. Activities That You Don’t Have To Pay For
Dining and activities are two of the most expensive things to pay for when vacationing anywhere, including Cancun.
There are a lot of activities you can do in Cancun, so it’s nice having some options that you don’t have to pay for so you can save money by enjoying a mixture of included and paid activities.
Typically all-inclusives will provide nightly entertainment, daytime activities, non-motorized watercraft rentals, and sometimes even pool parties.
5. The Opportunity To Indulge
Staying at an all-inclusive resort allows you the opportunity to indulge a bit more than you would otherwise.
Having unlimited dining at casual and fine dining restaurants, 24-hour room service, and unlimited drinks throughout the resort will allow you to try new things without having to fork over an arm and leg.
One of the best things about vacations is trying new food and cocktails, and by booking an all-inclusive you can enjoy all you want.
Getting To Cancun
Getting to Cancun from the U.S. is not only affordable but easy too.
There are nonstop flights available from a total of 43 different American airports and hundreds of flights departing from U.S. airports every week.
There are direct flights available from nearly half of all U.S. states, so wherever you are, there’s a good chance you’ll be somewhat close to an airport with flights to Cancun.
Budgeting For Ground Transportation
One thing you will likely still have to budget for on your trip is your ground transportation, at least to get to and from the airport.
Many people are shocked by how expensive it is.
You can expect to pay over $70 each way for a taxi or private transportation.
For much less, just a few dollars each way, you can opt for the ADO bus, but it isn’t the most convenient option because the bus only goes from the airport to the downtown ADO station.
From there you will still have to catch a cab to get to your hotel in the Hotel Zone.
Some hotels include transportation or offer deals for it to be included, so if you can manage to book one of those you can save on that too, making your Cancun vacation even more budget-friendly.
