When tourism went to a screeching halt back in 2020 as a result of the global Covid-19 pandemic, Air France had to temporarily suspend their long-established Paris to Cancun route. We are happy to announce these flights are back in action!

This Paris-Cancun route originally took flight for the first time back in October 2011 with three weekly seasonal availabilities. Then due to popular demand, in 2017 these flight services were changed to year-round.

Over the past 10-years, Air France and the Cancun airport have worked hand-in-hand with achieving success and growing together throughout the hardships and transformation of the tourism industry. And now, starting in 2022 for the first time in their long-established relationship, Air France will be offering up to 10 weekly flights to Canun during the high seasons. This is fantastic news after being shut down for over a year due to the global pandemic.

On October 21st, 2021 there was a commemorative ribbon-cutting when the Cancun airport, the directors of Air France, the Tourism Promotion Council, and authorities from the state of Quintana Roo welcomed a Boeing 777-300 from Paris with 386 passengers on board back onto Mexican Caribbean soil for the first time in over a year and a half. Passengers from over 20 countries were part of this first lucky Air France flight back to Cancun.

Guilhem Mallet, CEO of Air France in Mexico shared his pride in a recent interview “I am proud to be the director of the airline in Mexico that celebrates the first 10 years of the successful Paris-Cancun route of Air France.”
