You’ve just cannon-balled into a sky-blue infinity pool, the DJ’s spinning sunset-house, and somebody hands you a mezcal-pineapple paleta before you’ve even found your flip-flops…
Welcome to AVA Resort Cancun’s very first Summer Festival! An 11-week, “why-leave-the-hotel?” extravaganza that runs June 7 – August 14 and feels like summer camp for grown-ups (kids, too, but more on that).
We poked around so you don’t have to, and here’s everything you’ll want to know—plus a few pro tips we learned along the way.

🍽️ Michelin-Level Munching (Without the White Tablecloth Stress)
You know those chef’s-table nights where you secretly calculate how much each bite costs? Not here.
Every single week a new guest chef takes over, from Regina Escalante Bush’s Yucatán-French mash-ups to Pasquale Cozzolino’s “this-is-how-Naples-does-pizza” masterclasses.
No upsell, no jacket required—just show up hungry and maybe wear something looser than skinny jeans.
Insiders told us to stalk the resort app’s pop-up notifications.

🎧 Beats, Toddler Raves & Glow-Up Pool Parties
Yes, there’s a Toddler Rave—complete with baby-safe headphones—because toddlers apparently party now.
Teens get glow volleyball, surf simulators, and way too much frozen-slushy sugar.
While they’re busy, you can slide into a silent-disco sunset session or belt throwback ’90s hits at the resort’s karaoke speakeasy.

💆🏼♂️ The $1K Credit—A Choose-Your-Own-Spoil-Me Fund
Book five nights and the resort drops US $1,000 in credits into your virtual pocket.
We’d spend some on the hydrotherapy circuit (think cavernous steam grottos and an icy plunge pool).
If you’re traveling with kids, consider blowing a chunk on babysitting so you can sneak off to a chef-takeover dinner without someone tugging your sleeve for fries.

🚸 Kids & Teens Stay Free (Good for Your Wallet, Better for Your Nerves)
Family math here is wild: accommodation for the under-18s costs nada, and festival activities cost the same—also nada.
Little ones craft mini piñatas while tweens shoot hoops on a rooftop court.
Translation: you can lock eyes with your partner over cocktails knowing your kiddos are busy burning off churro energy elsewhere.

🚕 Getting There & Getting Around
AVA sits at Km 25.3 in the Hotel Zone—about a 20-minute ride from the airport if traffic behaves.
Taxis quote around MX $750, rideshares hover near MX $550, and the cheapest hack is grabbing the reliable ADO bus to downtown Cancún plus a short local cab (extra 20 minutes, but great if you’ve already spent those credits in your head).
Once you’re on-site, everything’s walkable—or floatable if you count the lazy-river shortcut to the beach bar.

🏄♀️ Break-Out Adventures (When Resort Fever Strikes)
Even the most committed pool lover eventually craves off-property stories. AVA’s concierge can point you to quick wins:
- El Meco Reef Snorkel (10 min north): cheap, shallow, and you’ll likely spot eagle rays—grab gear from any shop near the tiny El Meco ruins.
- Isla Mujeres Ferry: hop the Ultramar catamaran for taco-crawl heaven.
- Downtown Taco Al Pastor Run: perfect for spending leftover pesos at the legendary Taquería Los Chilangos and practicing your Spanish beyond “más margaritas, por favor.”

📦 Pack Like a Pro (We Learned the Hard Way)
- Two Swimsuits: one’s always drying and you’ll double-dip daily.
- Light Layers: chef-table nights crank the A/C to “Arctic Chic.”
- Reusable Cup: bartenders happily refill your eco-friendly tumbler with whatever the mixology lab dreams up next.

🌞 Why This Festival Might Be Your Summer “Thing”
Cancún already checks your turquoise-water box, but AVA’s Summer Festival piles on Michelin plates, rooftop beats, and the kind of art-meets-playground vibe that keeps your social feeds buzzing long after your tan fades.
You’ll eat food worthy of a huge price tag without actually paying one, let the kids run wild while pretending you’re child-free, and still snag enough resort credit to feel like you gamed the system.
So, will you dip into the toddler rave after brunch or save your energy for the mezcal-mixology duel at midnight? Either way, toss on SPF 50, charge your phone, and keep an eye out for us poolside—we’ll be the ones double-fisting paletas and trying to act cool about it.
