Cancun will be hosting its first annual International Boat Show and Marine Expo this summer. The marquee event is set for July 16 – 18 at the eminent Marina Puerto Cancun. Globally renowned for its nautical lifestyle, Cancun is undoubtedly an ideal destination for a boat show. The Caribbean venue is high on water sports and activities, making it Quintana Roo’s most substantial boating market.
Guests can expect a plethora of water luxuries, including yachts, boats, kite surfing, destination marinas, kayaks, paddle boarding, fly fishing, deep-sea fishing gear, jet skis, and more. A live DJ and diverse foods will add to the ambiance during the three-day in-person event.
As the United States’ second-largest recreational marine export market, Mexico holds excellent potential for expansion.
“With a growing upper and middle class, a booming manufacturing industry, and an overall economic upswing, Mexico is on its way to become an even greater market for recreational marine products,” stated the expo.
The event aims to foster growth in the marine industry while meeting demand and offering a more comprehensive range of products.
According to the expo, there is a large market for luxury yachts among the upper class, while middle-class families in Mexico are beginning to tune in to the boating scene.
However, there appears to be a limited marine product choice and accessibility in Mexico, which ultimately hinders growth in the industry. The expo believes that an engaging, in-person event as such will overcome the obstacles by uniting the industry with its audience and increasing awareness.
The event consists of seven main exhibits:
- Main Exhibit Area (boats, engines, electronics, fishing, diving)
- Covered Exhibit Area (media, travel)
- Boat Exhibit (boats under 25ft)
- In-Water Boat Exhibit (for sea trials – boats 26ft and above)
- Water Taxi & Yacht (water taxi drop-off /pickup, boarding to luxury yachts)
- Fun-Zone Demo Area (stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, jetskis)
- Luxury Yachts Exhibit in the Marina Basin (invitation only)
