Isla Mujeres Tour Chosen As One Of The Best Experiences In The Mexican Caribbean

Last Updated

One of the biggest tourism conventions in Mexico was recently held in Acapulco, the Tianguis Turístico de Acapulco 2024.

At the conference, tourism officials, hospitality stakeholders, and service providers discuss all things related to tourism.

They also hand out awards in various categories, one of which is the “Unknown Mexico” category, and one Mexican Caribbean destination was given a prestigious award within that category.

Isla Mujeres, located off of the coast of Cancun, is a beautiful island paradise, and a tour to this island was chosen as one of the best experiences in the Mexican Caribbean.

Let’s dive into what makes this island so special and look at some of the tours you can take to this tropical paradise.

Isla Mujeres – A Tiny Island With Huge Appeal

Isla Mujeres is one of the smallest islands that you can visit in the Mexican Caribbean.

It measures just 4.3 miles in length and is less than a half-mile wide.

Despite its small size, though, Isla Mujeres has a lot to offer.

Plenty of beaches, hotels, restaurants, and attractions make it the perfect Mexican Caribbean destination for those looking for a more laid-back experience but don’t want to sacrifice all of the amenities of the larger destinations.

Three Interesting Facts About Isla Mujeres

While Isla Mujeres is similar in many ways to other Mexican Caribbean destinations, it is also unique.

There are three interesting facts that we’ll share with you that might make the island even more appealing.

  1. Isla Mujeres is the first place in Mexico to see the sunrise, as the first rays of the sun to touch the country land on the island.
  1. Isla Mujeres is home to the largest underwater sculpture museum in the world.
  1. Isla Mujeres is one of Mexico’s “Magic Towns,” designated so because of its laid-back atmosphere, colorful buildings, and Caribbean vibe.

Best Way To Explore The Island

While unlike on the nearby island of Holbox, cars are allowed on the island of Isla Mujeres, it’s still not the best way to see the island.

You’ll see more tourists exploring the island by golf cart or scooter.

These forms of transportation allow you access to all of the little nooks and crannies around the island that can’t be reached by car.
