There are more flights between U.S. cities and the popular vacation destination of Cancun, Mexico than ever before, and the number keeps growing.
Most major U.S. airlines and numerous smaller airlines offer nonstop flights to the city.
Now, one of the low-cost airlines that already offers flights to the destination from multiple U.S. cities, Frontier Airlines, is adding a new nonstop Cancun flight from Chicago.
The Newest Flight From Chicago To Cancun
The flight from Chicago to Cancun that Frontier is adding is from Chicago’s Midway International Airport.
Flying out of this smaller airport gives travelers the advantage of dealing with smaller crowds, and Chicago Midway is closer to downtown Chicago.
These nonstop flights are currently starting at $161 roundtrip and are being offered once a day from now until at least the end of February.

Frontier Flights From Other U.S. Cities To Cancun
Frontier offers seasonal direct flights to Cancun from a total of 13 other U.S. airports, in addition to Chicago Midway (MDW).
Many of these are from cities with cold winters.

Other Airlines With Flights To Cancun From U.S. Cities
In addition to Frontier, there are 11 more airlines that offer nonstop flights to Cancun.
The ones that offer the most are Southwest and American Airlines.
They provide American travelers with flights from 19 and 18 U.S. airports, respectively.

The U.S. And Cancun’s Growing Connectivity
In total, there are direct, nonstop flights to Cancun from 41 U.S. airports.
The most flights are from Dallas-Fort Worth, with around 234 flights a month, Chicago with 180, and New York City, with 166.
In total, more than two thousand flights fly from the U.S. to Cancun every month.
Why American Travelers Love Cancun In The Winter
Cancun is known for its warm winter temperatures that still allow vacationers to enjoy the beaches and other outdoor activities.
From November through the month of March, you can expect daytime temperatures to average around 82-84 degrees, and nighttime temperatures to rarely drop below about 67 degrees.
Not only are the temperatures warm, but winter is also the dry season in Cancun.
Additionally, the Caribbean Sea stays warm throughout the year, so the water is still warm enough for swimming, averaging around 80 degrees in December.

With the weather in Cancun being somewhat milder during the winter, and the minimal chance of rain, it makes it a great time to enjoy some other outdoor activities as well.
