CANCÚN, Quintana Roo – Governor Mara Lezama announced a significant improvement to transportation infrastructure in Cancún this Thursday, unveiling a new shuttle service connecting Cancún International Airport (CUN) to the bustling Hotel Zone. The initiative, operated in collaboration with Grupo Asur and Autobuses de Oriente (ADO), aims to provide a safer, more efficient, and comfortable travel option for both tourists and local residents. In light of concerns regarding pirate taxis and inflated fares, this new service provides a welcome sense of security and fair pricing for visitors.

Governor Lezama emphasized the importance of this new transportation system in enhancing accessibility within the popular tourist destination. “This service will greatly facilitate the movement of our visitors and residents, offering a reliable and comfortable connection between the airport and the heart of our Hotel Zone,” she stated.

The shuttle route is designed to service all major terminals at Cancún International Airport, specifically terminals 2, 3, and 4. The final destination for the service will be Plaza Fiesta, a central point within the Hotel Zone, offering convenient access to numerous hotels and attractions.
For passengers planning their trips, the shuttle will operate with scheduled departures throughout the afternoon and early evening. The current schedule includes departures at 11:05 AM, 1:05 PM, 3:05 PM, 5:05 PM, and the final departure at 7:05 PM.

Governor Lezama also announced the introductory ticket price for the service, set at 140 pesos per person (around $7.00 USD). This affordable rate is expected to make the shuttle a popular choice for travelers seeking a cost-effective and reliable transportation option.

The collaboration between Grupo Asur, the airport operator, and ADO, a well-established bus transportation company, is anticipated to ensure a high standard of service and reliability. This new shuttle service marks a significant step in improving the travel experience for visitors to Cancún, providing a seamless connection between the airport and the vibrant Hotel Zone.
