New Flights to Cancun from Spain and Portugal This Month

Cancun anticipates to receive more visitors from Europe, namely Portugal and Spain, in response to its expansion of flights in the month of March. Mexico’s beautiful city Cancun contains ideal climate and attractive beaches that compel an increasing number of European and international foreigners annually, and as the city opens new flight routes, a surge in visitors is established.

With Europeans looking for the perfect getaway this travel season, major travel agencies located in Europe such as Spain’s Iberojet, are making adjustments to their airlines in order to consolidate flight services to Cancun.

Although Darío Flota Ocampo, head of the Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo had previously indicated that flights from Spain to Cancun had not resumed due to Spaniards associating the number of COVID-19 cases in Mexico City with Cancun, things have begun to change for Cancun and its Europe-based visitors.

March 8 has been set as the official date for Madrid’s flight to arrive in Cancun, as confirmed by Ocampos statement “We had already announced that on March 8, the flight from Madrid with airline Evelop of Grupo Barceló will arrive.’’

The passengers arriving on the flight will be receiving a warm welcome through a reception arranged in honour of attending one of the first flights from Spain to arrive, which will be on airplane Airbus 350.

Anticipating to arrive in Cancun this month from other parts of Europe is a flight from Portugal’s airline division ‘orbest’. Orbest is currently owned by Iberojet and has a flight scheduled to arrive in Cancun at the end of March.

Flight arrivals to Cancun will expand in availability to three flights per week from other airlines such as Air Portugal, which will begin landing at Cancun’s international airport on March 27, according to Flota Ocampo.

The availability and demand for arrival in Cancun extends to other places of Europe, such as France, Germany and England.
