New Sha Wellness Hotel To Open Near Cancun Next Year

Sha Mexico will launch Latin Amica’s first Sha Wellness Clinic in Playa Mujeres in October 2023. The brand-new hotel clinic will cater to a range of health and fitness needs and is surrounded by lush Caribbean nature. An ideal destination to kick back and relax, as well as attend to any health-related concerns, the destination was chosen to help clients recharge and regain their stamina.

Owned by the Bataller family – the creators of the Sha Wellness Clinic brand – the new resort complex caters to a growing segment of the travel market: medical tourism. Guests staying at the new wellness center can do much more than relaxing. From treating minor ailments such as fatigue, all the way to obesity and chronic pain, the unique fusion of all-inclusive luxury with top-notch medical service creates the perfect location to recharge mentally and physically.

Sha’s clinic-hotel is the crown jewel of the new development. With 101 suites and 105 treatment rooms, the Sha Wellness Clinic will focus on both comfort and high-quality medical care. The hotel was already supposed to open last year, however, the covid-19 pandemic ironically delayed opening by more than a year. All eyes are now set on October 2023, and if everything goes according to plan, Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean will have one of the leading hospitality and healthcare centers in the region.

Located on more than seven hectares of untouched nature, and occupying a half-kilometer stretch of pristine Caribbean coastline, the new hotel features an organic design that blends seamlessly with the area’s rich natural beauty. Just 20 minutes by taxi from Cancun International Airport, guests staying at the resort will find plenty of greenery and an invigorating interior design. The complex is made up of structures of various heights, giving it a dynamic and contemporary look.

In addition to the new hotel clinic, the complex will also feature 37 apartments that have already been sold. Located in the northern region of the state of Quintana Roo in Playa Mujeres, the new property has been chosen thanks to its stunning Caribbean seaside views and lush surrounding nature. Set to open in 2023, the hotel will be the first of its kind in Latin America, and customers are looking forward to booking the wide range of treatment options available there.

Offering a varied selection of health and fitness programs lasting between 4 to 21 days stays at Sha’s wellness clinic are ideally long-term. Addressing a variety of day-to-day ailments from fatigue to burnout, the company promises clients a feeling of rejuvenation thanks to the facilities’ relaxing ambiance and sophisticated treatment plans.

Of course, with environmental issues being a big concern, the new development is being built sustainability. Sha is opting for materials that have a minimal impact on the surrounding nature, and renewable energy sources mean the facilities will have fewer carbon dioxide emissions. The famed architecture office Sordo Madaleno is overseeing the design and construction of the new center. Authenticity is also an important hallmark of the new complex, which is why locally-sources marble, ceramic, and textiles are being used to reflect the area’s qualities.

“SHA México will become the main reference point for the health and wellness sector in America sector thanks to its ambitious, exclusivity, innovativeness, and a wide array of clinical and wellness services”, the company said. The Mexican Caribbean was an easy choice for the company’s flagship wellness center, as Cancun airport enjoys excellent connections to major North and South American cities.
