Sunwing Airlines Plans To Return To The Mexican Caribbean This Summer

Canadians have been anxiously awaiting for the green light to hop back on a glorious Sunwing flight to the Mexican Caribbean. After months of flight suspensions and postponing services, Sunwing Airlines is finally ready to resume operations this summer.

Back in March 2020 all flight operations went to a screeching halt when the global Covid-19 pandemic struck. Since then, Canadian travelers have been stuck at home with next to no options for travel. And after months of suspended flights, travelers are ready to pack their bags and head back to paradise!

After the Canadian government finally announced that border restrictions are easing up for vaccinated citizens, As of July 5th Sunwing plans to return to Cancun, Punta Cana and Veradero. This long awaited ease of restrictions has many travelers excited and optimistic about getting back to travelling.

In a recent interview Andrew Dawson, president of Sunwing operations expressed the growing demand for flights back to the Mexican Caribbean. “With the vaccine being rolled out across the country and the borders reopening, we are seeing a significant increase in travel demand across the country.” Dawson said.

Starting July 30th 2021, Sunwing will fly between Toronto and Cancun every Friday and Sunday. With additional Saturday flights opening up at the end of August. It has been reported that there is a potential for even more flights available, It will all depend on customer demand. 

In addition, Sunwing flights to Punta Cana from Toronto will commence on July 31st with a flight increase in late August as well. Varadero has flights from Toronto set for Mondays starting on August 2nd 2021. The countdown is on for Canadian wanderlusts! Book those flights, pack your bags and prepare for take off! The Mexican Caribbean is waiting for you.
