This U.S. Airport Offers The Most Daily Non-Stop Flights To Cancun

Last Updated

There are a lot of cities in the United States that offer direct flights to Cancun but one U.S. airport, specifically, offers more daily non-stop flights to the Mexican Caribbean vacation destination than any other city in the country.  Dallas-Fort Worth offers non-stop flights to more than 50 different destinations and a total of seven daily non-stop flights to Cancun alone.  It is the most popular international destination for the airport, according to Simply Flying.

DFW Airport

This isn’t the first time that Dallas-Fort Worth has been in the number one spot for having the most non-stop flights.  Prior to the pandemic the airport held first place but fell back a little when travel was minimal during that time.  Simply Flying stated that “Before the COVID-19 pandemic, DFW was the United States airport that offered the most nonstop destinations in the country for a brief period. Now, the Dallas airport is back on top.”

Now DFW offers non-stop flights to seven more destinations than Chicago O’Hare International Airport, which holds the second place position.  The bulk of the direct flights flying out of Dallas-Fort Worth are American Airlines flights.  They account for a total of 220 flights a day, with the most popular domestic flight destinations being New York’s LaGuardia Airport, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, and Los Angeles International Airport.

Dallas Fort-Worth doesn’t place in number one for the number of flights offered for international destinations but still, it offers more flights to Cancun than any other U.S. city.  Nearly 50 other cities also offer direct flights to Cancun International Airport as well.  In fact, recent reports show that Cancun is the second busiest airport in Mexico, following Mexico City International Airport, which is in the number one spot in the country.

Flight offerings do change based on the seasons, with some flights only being offered in the summer and/or winter months.  In addition to all of the direct flights originating in the United States, there are more than 20 other countries with cities that offer direct flights to Cancun too.  With all the flights that connect to Cancun, the airport handles as many as 500 operations a day.

In the busier months, nearly 400 flights a month are welcomed to Mexico through Cancun International Airport.  With that many flights, and those coming in from other cities around the world, it’s no surprise that more than 20 million people have already arrived at the busy airport this year.  And at least a couple more million are expected to travel to Cancun during the remainder of the year, which is turning out to be a record-breaking year for tourism in the area.

Busy Cancun Airport

Cancun is now the most popular vacation destination in Mexico for foreign travelers.  Most of these tourists come from the United States, Canada, and Europe, especially in the last year.  Now, as more and more hotels and resorts are being built to meet demand, we can expect that demand will continue to increase as tourism professionals continue to find new ways to provide great experiences for those visiting the beautiful Mexican Caribbean vacation destination.

Too bad DFW sucks so bad you can't get anywhere else in the world. Find non-stop flight to Rome, how about Athens. Nothing there well maybe we can get to Singapore or Manila. Don't hold your breath for anything from DFW
