The Mexican Caribbean is a coveted vacation destination for American travelers and tourists from around the globe, so it’s no surprise that millions visit the region every year.
There are hundreds of hotels up and down the coast to cater to the growing number of travelers who visit the destination, but only a select few are considered to be the best.
The top 15 Mexican Caribbean hotels have just been revealed in a new traveler ranking published by one of the most prestigious travel publications, Travel & Leisure.
The Mexican Caribbean
The Mexican Caribbean is made up of several destinations that line the azure and white sand coast.
The region extends from Cancun all the way down to Mahahual, encompassing what is known as the Riviera Maya in between, which includes everything between Playa del Carmen and Tulum.
The top 15 hotels that made the list are all situated along this stunning coastline.
These are the 15 hotels that made the list…
Best Hotels In Cancun
Cancun is by far the most popular destination in the Mexican Caribbean.
Several of the hotels that made the list are in, or very close to, Cancun.
The top hotels in Cancun are:
- Atelier Playa Mujeres
- Canopy By Hilton Cancun La Isla
- JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa
- Le Blanc Spa Resort
- Nizuc Resort & Spa
Best Hotels In Playa Del Carmen
Playa del Carmen is the next most popular destination in the Mexican Caribbean.
Because of this, it’s no surprise that several of the hotels that ended up on the list are in Playa del Carmen, and in fact, even more than in Cancun.
The destination’s top hotels include:
- Banyan Tree Mayakoba
- Grand Velas Riviera Maya
- Hotel Xcaret Arte
- Hotel Xcaret Mexico
- Mahekal Beach Resort
- Rosewood Mayakoba
- Viceroy Riviera Maya
Best Hotels In Other Mexican Caribbean Destinations
There are many other destinations in the Mexican Caribbean that are no stranger to tourism.
Places like Tulum, Puerto Morelos, and several lesser-known destinations in between get their fair share of visitors too.
The top hotels in this region, with their locations, are:
- Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya – Tulum
- Etereo, Auberge Resorts Collection – Punta Maroma
- Vidanta Riviera Maya – Playa Paraiso
Now let’s take a more in-depth look at three of these amazing hotels…
Atelier Playa Mujeres
Playa Mujeres is a quieter, private resort community just minutes from Cancun’s Hotel Zone, and is home to just a few luxury hotels.
Atelier Playa Mujeres, which is an adult-only all-inclusive resort with nearly 600 suites, is one of them.
The warm tones, wood accents, and artistic design of this amenity-filled resort make it blend with its surroundings, and staying here is the perfect way to experience the Mexican Caribbean in all of its glory.
Banyan Tree Mayakoba
Where Atelier Playa Mujeres blends the surroundings into the hotel’s design, Banyan Tree Mayakoba immerses you right into the surrounding nature.
Situated within the mangroves along the coastline, this hotel is a sanctuary for those looking for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Featuring spacious suites and villas, the Banyan Tree Mayakoba is a resort where the whole family can come to share in the splendor that is the Mexican Caribbean.
Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya
The Conrad name is synonymous with luxury, and the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya is no exception.
The understated elegance enhanced by wood accents, neutral tones, and organic materials makes the hotel blend perfectly with the nature that surrounds it.
This luxurious property, with five pools, 11 restaurants and bars, a luxury spa, and a stunning beach leaves little reason to venture out, but for those that want to, there is plenty to explore just beyond the resort.
