Many cenotes are located near Cancun, each being unique its own way. Here are five attractive cenotes found near Cancun.

1. Cenote Azul

Located around 1 hour and 15 minutes from Cancun, this captivating cenote translates to ”blue cenote” which is exactly what it looks like with its stunning turquoise waters. The cenote contains a cliff for diving and two swimming areas with depths deep enough to take a swim in with family and friends. 

The cost for entry is $120 pesos per person.

2. Cenote Ik Kil (Chichén Itzá)

Classified as one of the most spectacular cenotes on the Yucatan Peninsula, Cenote Ik Kil provides beautiful scenery for its visitors through the tree roots that come in the waters. The site is located at a 2 hour and 45 minute distance from Cancun. 

The cost for entry is $80 pesos per person.

This renowned cenote offers a collection of caves, caverns, wooden boardwalks, and a lush green atmosphere at just 1 hour and 45 minutes away from Cancun. This open air cenote leads straight to carribean sea and contains diverse marine life in its shallow waters. Yal Ku is surrounded by white sand beaches and is perfect for families and snorkelers.

Neighbouring Gran Cenote, Cenote Zacil Ha features open air and is structured like a swimming pool. Hammocks, zip lines and cool waters are all found at this attractive site that is located near small restaurants and regular swimming pools. Zacil Ha can be found 1 hour 45 minutes from Cancun.
