Last Updated

The once-mythical and now endlessly popular destination of Tulum in the Mexican Caribbean has just announced it will be holding its carnival celebration from the 23rd to the 25th of February.

Set in the Mayan Culture Park in Tulum, its easy-to-reach location and impressive entertainment plans have quickly put the event at the top of the list of things travelers must see this February.

Why This Massive Celebration Is A Can’t-Miss Event For Tulum Tourists This Month

A True Mexican Experience

While the Mexican Caribbean is an area rich with culture, history, and true Mexican flair, it can be a little too easy to miss out on the true Mexican experience here, thanks to the amazing amenities and entertainment within the all-inclusive resorts.

To experience this paradise in the best way travelers are encouraged to go out and explore, and for anyone visiting this February the Tulum Carnival is more than just an option, it’s an unmissable experience that travelers won’t regret.

Explosion Of Color

Most travelers could probably admit that the cultures in Latin America know how to make colors pop. And that is never truer than at one of the thousands of Carnival celebrations across both North & South America.

Tulum Carnival won’t buck this trend, and travelers can look forward to bright and colorful parades with creative costumes that show off the culture and history of Mexico throughout the ages.

A Culinary Treat

No vacation to the Mexican Caribbean would be complete without sampling the food, and for travelers who want to sample as much as possible all at the same time, the Tulum Carnival is the perfect opportunity to get as many birds as possible with one stone.

Travelers will have access to amazing seafood dishes, Mexican classics such as taco de al pastor, and of course, a hard-to-choose-between list of sweet treats and candies.

Sounds Of Mexico

After food, the thing Mexico and its diverse and energetic culture are most known for is music.

In this one country alone, there are more genres of music than you can find in all of the top 10 charts in the rest of the modern world. Banda, Corrido, Mariachi, Norteño, Ranchera, and the list goes on.

This year at the Tulum Carnival, travelers can enjoy some of Mexico and Latin America’s most beloved acts, which include the following headliners:

Friday 23rd

The opening night of the carnival is kicked off by the outstanding La Sonora Dinamita, an energetic band from Cartagena, Colombia, famous for their cumbia and salsa sounds.

As far as music in Latin America goes, La Sonora Dinamita is a legendary dynasty, first forming in 1960 and reinventing itself multiple times over the decades to ensure the music lives on.

Saturday 25th

Next up for the headliners are the stars of Mexican musical YouTube, Tierra Sagrada.

Hailing from the beautiful town of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, this is a chance to experience a truly Mexican music experience.

Sunday 26th

Closing out this magical three-day event is Edwin Luna and La Trakalosa de Monterrey.

Travelers will likely gather from the band name that this group is coming from the northeast of Mexico, in the city of Monterrey, to play their many hits for revelers in Tulum.

Like Tierra Sagrada, this will be an authentic celebration of Mexican music and its romantic and energetic sounds.

Step Out Of The Resort

Each year the number of travelers exploring outside of their resort is climbing, as the Mexican Caribbean opens up thanks to the two new fantastic transport options of the Maya train and the new Tulum International Airport, the region is becoming more accessible than ever.

With this new level of accessibility comes an open-armed welcome from the locals of the Mexican Caribbean, who work tirelessly and with a smile to share their culture with the millions of visitors who choose to vacation in the Mexican Caribbean each year.

If travelers can do just one trip this February while on vacation here, then the Tulum Carnival surely deserves to be top of the list.
