The dream of every sophisticated traveler is to have luxury and comfort at all times, and if you add being surrounded by a natural environment, the experience is unforgettable. The two newest Xcaret Hotels fulfill this dream perfectly, with a masterful mix of refined Mexican folklore. These two adults-only resorts are the Hotel Xcaret Arte and La Casa de la Playa, and they pay tribute to Mexican culture and traditions.

The Mexican tourism company Grupo Xcaret specializes in parks, excursions, and luxury resorts. It has expanded its hotel portfolio by opening two new hotels in Playa del Carmen in the Riviera Maya.

“In the past year, we have learned that, despite the difficulties arising from the pandemic, sustainable tourism is also resilient. The opening of Hotel Xcaret Arte and La Casa de la Playa is the result of a management that has been able to balance the financial, social, and natural aspects with the business and the environment,” said Sakari Malinen, sales director of the Xcaret Hotels.

Located in front of the Caribbean Sea, Hotel Xcaret Arte owes its name to the inspiration under which it was conceived: to make the hotel industry a sensitive proof of the art and sustainability of Mexico. As its name suggests, the new Hotel Xcaret Arte is an homage to Mexican art through its décor, looms, paintings, and clay pieces. This adults-only property has 900 suites where you can immerse yourself in meticulously curated spaces with a handcrafted style.

The new hotel presents nine gastronomic proposals, which travel through the different flavors of the world, from Mediterranean and Oriental to Oaxacan. The Gastronomic Collective of Xcaret Hotels is made up of a select group of celebrity chefs, who set the tone for restaurants that are always inspired by Mexican cuisine, but rich in influences from different cultures of the world. “Xaak” stands out, by Alex Ruiz and Roberto Solís, specializing in regional food with pre-Hispanic influences. Solis is also in charge of “Kibi-Kibi,” the best ambassador of Yucatecan and Lebanese cuisines. “Encanta,” on the other hand, is a signature restaurant under the baton of Michelin Star chef Paco Méndez.

In addition to relaxing under the sun or swimming in the sea and the infinity pools of this dream paradise, you can explore and have fun in all the parks of Grupo Xcaret, to which you have unlimited access as a guest of Hotel Xcaret Arte. This benefit includes access to Xcaret, Xel-Há, Xplor, Xplor Fuego, Xenses, Xoximilco, Xavage, and Xenotes parks. This includes more than 200 experiences of adventure, entertainment, culture, and archaeology so that you are the central character and co-creator of an adventure trip that can only be offered by an all-fun Inclusive hotel of this category.

La Casa de la Playa

La Casa de la Playa is a boutique hotel designed by architect David Quintana. The hotel has four restaurants:

  • “Tuch de Luna,” captained by Chef Martha Ortiz, whose menu combines art, science, and creativity.
  • Peruvian Virgilio Martínez, one of Latin America’s best chefs, is behind “Estero,” a cult space for cooking with ingredients from his land.
  • “Lumbre” and “Centli,” inspired by northern and southern Mexico cuisine, respectively, and led by the Rivera-Rio brothers, new talents of Mexican cuisine.

In addition to delicious culinary proposals, wellness, art, and cultural experiences will also be part of La Casa de la Playa. For example, there will be a Mexican art concept store curated by Carla Fernández, ideal for art and design lovers.
