Cancun has been steadily growing in popularity over the last several decades, and as its popularity has grown, so has the popularity of other surrounding destinations.

One of them is the island of Isla Mujeres, which sits directly across from Cancun, about 8 miles off of the coast.

Isla Mujeres has plenty of luxurious hotels, including several all-inclusives, and a new luxury all-inclusive adults-only hotel is going to open on this idyllic island near Cancun this month.

Take a look at all of the details about this luxurious new property, and the beautiful island it will be located on.

Almare, A Marriott Luxury Collection Resort

The newest resort that will grace the white sand shores of Isla Mujeres this month is the Almare, A Luxury Collection Adult All-Inclusive Resort by Marriott.

While no exact date of opening has been announced, you can still get excited, because the first date that you can make reservations for on the website is just weeks away, on October 25th.

Starting rates are $750 a night on weekends and $612 a night on weekdays.

Accommodations At Almare

The new Amare resort offers a wide variety of accommodation options, all decorated in warm earthy tones and wood accents.

There are several different types of guest rooms and suites, ranging in size, views, and amenities.

Among these is an ocean-view duplex with its own plunge pool and an oceanfront presidential suite.

Almare’s All-Inclusive Service

Almare is an all-inclusive resort, which includes meals, drinks, entertainment, and some activities.

Dining and drinks at four restaurants, two bars, and one coffee house are included in the all-inclusive service.

The hotel will be offering room service according to its website, but it isn’t clear as to whether that is part of the all-inclusive service or not, as it is at many other all-inclusives.

Dining At Almare

The four restaurants at Almare offer a variety of different cuisine options to try during your stay.

BOGA offers authentic Mayan and Mexican dishes by day and international fine dining and theme nights by night.

Seasalt is a Mediterranean restaurant offering Mexican/European fusion dishes.

AlVento offers fresh seafood and a variety of other different options.

Last but not least, AlPaso offers a fun food truck-type setting featuring bites, bowls, and smoothies.

Other Amenities

Other amenities at Almare include a stunning outdoor pool, a fitness center, a spa, watercraft rentals, scuba diving, snorkeling, and turndown service, some of which may require an extra fee.

Entertainment in the form of sunset ceremonies, live music, and movies on the beach are featured as well.

Guests will also be able to enjoy various fun theme nights.

The Island Of Isla Mujeres

Although the island of Isla Mujeres is only 5 miles long and approximately a half mile wide, it has a lot to offer despite its small size.

Its Playa Norte is considered one of the best beaches in the world, and the charming town, with its colorful buildings, will have you believing that you just escaped to a far-off bohemian paradise.

It’s a quieter, more laidback option if you’re looking to escape the crowds in Cancun.

Getting To The Island

Getting to the island requires a ferry ride, and there are several different options.

One-way trips typically cost around $15, give or take a little, depending on the ferry company you choose.

You’ll have to book transportation to the ferry port for a fee, but Amare will provide ferry transportation, weather permitting, or arrange another ferry service for you.

Transportation from the ferry port to the hotel is included, a fantastic amenity for sure.

A 10-minute cab ride from there, you’ll be in the paradise of the new Almare resort.
