Cenotes Tour

If you have never heard of cenotes before or been in one you will be pleasantly surprised, and you can easily spend a day visiting them.

A cenote is a swimming hole naturally formed out of limestone and filled with rain and groundwater.

There are hundreds of them spread throughout the Yucatan peninsula and many are not far from Cancun.

One way to see multiple cenotes in one day is to book a tour for the Ruta de los Cenotes, which starts only about 40 minutes away in Puerto Morelos.

@trendytraveler SAVE this for your next trip to TULUM 🐢 🌴 This is one of my favorite cenotes! Gran cenote is located just about 3 miles from downtown Tulum, but I recommend getting here early to avoid the crowds 😊 FOLLOW #trendytraveler for more travel tips! ✈️ #tulum #travel #cenote #cenotes #grancenote #mexico #rivieramaya #cancun #quintanaroo #travelbucketlist #travelwithme #travelmexico #traveltiktok ♬ The Night We Met by Lord Huron – Hanna Cole

Adventure Park

There are a number of great adventure parks near Cancun to choose from and you can easily spend a day at any one of them.

The most popular of these, Xcaret, is located just over an hour away in Playa del Carmen.

It consists of more than 50 attractions to enjoy, ranging from underground rivers to live shows.

Tickets for park entry are $121 for adults and $91 for children 5-11 years old.

All kinds of boat tours are offered at different price points, from sailing to snorkeling excursions.

Some of the most highly rated are:

  • Sailing Experience to Isla Mujeres in a Catamaran with Open Bar – $69
  • Luxury Catamaran and Snorkel. Lunch & Open Bar Onboard and Visit to Isla Mujeres – $129

Jungle Tour

You don’t have to go far from Cancun to delve into the Mayan jungle, and there are plenty of tours that will take you to explore it.

Some areas to visit are as close as Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos.

Typically you’ll be able to ATV and/or zipline through the jungle, swim in a cenote, and on some, even go horseback riding.

Often lunch is included in these tours too, and prices range from about $75 – $105.
