As restrictions ease up and the world gets back to travelling, there has been a steady increase in demands for flights to paradise. Thanks to this increase and excitement, American Airlines has 4 new direct weekly flights from Austin to Cancun. These flight schedules will commence on October 7th 2021.

In a recent interview the mayor of Austin, Steve Adler expressed his appreciation for the way American Airlines has connected Austin and central Texas with the world. “As the mayor of Austin, I would like to thank American Airlines for going above and beyond the last 40 years with connecting Austin and central Texas with the rest of the world.”

“We couldn’t be happier with the recent announcement of expanded service in AUS. We look forward to continuing our successful partnership with American Airlines for many more years to come.” Alder explained.

Earlier this year there was already one increase in flights available departing from Austin. However, the customers have spoken and American Airlines had to increase their services and make even more available to American travelers. Aside from Cancun, there has been an increased demand in other Mexican destinations. Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos and Jalisco are also on the list of destinations that will see an increase of direct flights available from Austin.

“Austin is an increasingly important market for both our vacationing and business customers, and we will continue to offer our first-class customer service as the market expands and the world gets back to traveling.” said Alison Taylor, Chief Customer Officer, American Airlines.

In total, American Airlines announced 14 new direct flight options starting as early as September 8th 2021. 10 domestic and 4 international. As of Monday June 14th, these flights are available to book on their website. Many travelers have mentioned a decrease in stress when flying direct, so these flights are great news for those looking to get back to travelling during a pandemic with a little less stress on their plate.
