American Airlines offers the most flights to the destination this winter.
The new direct flights to Cancun that American Airlines is offering, which started on December 9th, are from:

New American Airlines Flights To Cozumel
Cozumel, an idyllic island destination off of the coast of Playa Del Carmen, has its own international airport too.
While connectivity between Cozumel and the U.S. isn’t nearly as good as with Cancun and the U.S., American Airlines is offering several options this winter.
The total number of direct flights to the U.S. that are available from the airline, with six flights on the busiest days having been added this winter, are from:
- Austin
- Charlotte
- Chicago
- Dallas-Fort Worth
- Miami

American Airlines Connectivity In The Mexican Caribbean
While American Airlines’ connectivity between the U.S. and Cozumel is limited to the five cities mentioned, the airline’s connectivity with Cancun is even stronger.
With the addition of these new flights, it brings the total offering of American Airlines direct routes from the U.S. to Cancun to 18.

Overall Connectivity In Cozumel And Cancun
American Airlines may be the airline with the most connectivity to Cancun and Cozumel, but it’s not the only one.
There are 11 airlines that offer flights to the destination, five of which offer direct flights from U.S. cities, and the total of all direct flights from the U.S. to Cozumel is 10.
From Cancun, there are direct flights from 41 U.S. cities offered by 11 different airlines.

American Airlines Coming To New Tulum Airport
American Airlines will also have connectivity with the new Tulum Airport starting in 2024.
The airline recently announced that it will operate flights to Tulum from three U.S. cities starting in March.
Those cities are Dallas-Fort Worth, Charlotte, and Miami.
