American Airlines To Offer More Nonstop Flights To Cancun Than Ever

The availability of flights from U.S. cities to Cancun has been steadily growing over the years to the point where direct flights are now available from 38 different cities in the United States.   

These flights are offered by multiple airlines that operate between the two countries, but American Airlines offers the most.   

And now American Airlines is preparing to offer more nonstop flights to Cancun than ever this winter. 

American Airlines – The Number One Operator Between The U.S. And Mexico  

According to a report that came out earlier this year, American Airlines is the top airline for flights between the U.S. and Mexico.   

The Mexican Secretary of Tourism report reflects that more than 1.3 million travelers flew to Mexico on American Airlines flights just in the first few months of this year.   

Furthermore, the airline offers more flights from the U.S. to Cancun than any other airline.

American Airlines Growth In Mexico 

The 1.3 million people that have already flown American Airlines to Mexico this year represents a huge increase compared to the same time period last year.   

The increase adds up to nearly 36 percent more American Airlines passengers traveling to Mexico than in 2022.   

And with the new announcement that American Airlines is increasing their flights from the U.S. to Cancun, those numbers can be expected to be even more significant this winter.

American Airlines Flights To Cancun 

American Airlines currently operates 18 different direct routes to Cancun International Airport from cities in the U.S.   

Flight times from these cities range from a couple of hours to up to around five.   

Those cities include:

• Columbus  
• Dallas-Fort Worth 
• Indianapolis  
• Kansas City  
• Los Angeles

New Routes Added To The List 

At this time last year, there were American Airlines nonstop flights available from only 15 U.S. cities, so three more have been added.   

The newest Cancun routes to be added to this list are Pittsburgh, Nashville, and Cincinnati.   

These will be seasonal routes that will operate during the winter months.

American Airlines Flight Increases This Winter 

In addition to adding new routes to Cancun from the U.S., the frequency of flights for some routes will increase, too.   

There will be more flights from both Charlotte and Miami to Cancun starting this winter.   

Additionally, daily flights to Cancun from Austin will also increase from one to two starting on November 5th of this year.

Sample Prices For American Airline Nonstop Cancun Flights 

American Airlines flights from U.S. cities to Cancun vary considerably.   

While ticket prices greatly vary though, some sample prices from different areas of the country will help you to get an idea of what to expect.
