It’s safe to say that more Cancun visitors stay at the vacation destination’s luxury all-inclusive resorts more than any other type of accommodation.

They make planning your vacation easy, they provide numerous amenities, and they offer good value for your money.

This year, that value is even more important, and there is one major reason why Cancun all-inclusives will be an even better deal this year.

Rising Costs For Restaurants

There are three main reasons that Cancun restaurant owners are having to pay more for their products right now.

The first is inflation, the second has to do with weather that has caused a shortage of certain products, and the third is the rising fuel prices that lead to higher costs to transport goods.

Combined, this has resulted in an increase in cost for restaurants of as much as 30 percent.

Rising Costs = Rising Prices For Customers

The rising costs of products lead to higher prices for customers.

There really is no way around it, because restaurants need to make a profit in order to be able to continue providing quality dining experiences for their customers.

This isn’t just something that we’re seeing in Mexico, but around the world right now.

What You Can Expect To Pay For Dining Out In Cancun

Cancun has both casual and sit-down restaurants ranging from casual and elevated Mexican cuisine to high-end and laid-back international restaurants from all different regions of the world.

That being said, prices range considerably based on not only the restaurant concept but also the ingredients that are most used in their dishes.

Generally speaking, you can expect to pay between about $10-$50 per person for casual and mid-range dining and $50 and up per person for fine dining.

Ways To Save Money On Dining In Cancun

Most of us expect to pay more for dining out when on vacation and are okay with splurging for once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

As things get even more expensive, though, it doesn’t hurt to look for ways to save on the cost.

One way to do that is to look for restaurants that offer deals on certain days of the week and organize your plans accordingly.

Another option that can help you save significantly, especially if you’ll be having drinks too, is looking for Happy Hours at the different restaurants.

In Cancun, you can also opt for downtown restaurants as opposed to those located within the Hotel Zone.

How All-Inclusives Make Dining Budget-Friendly

Staying at an all-inclusive will make dining on your vacation more budget-friendly too.

Once you pay for your room you don’t have to worry about that expense because all of your dining is already paid for.

Other than tip money, you don’t even have to think about having to pay for dining again, and that includes drinks, meals, and even snacks at most places.

Why All-Inclusive Restaurants Are Better Than Ever

Remember the days when we used to cringe at the thought of all-inclusive dining?

Thankfully, the days of mediocre buffets and scheduled dinners are over now because these resorts are stepping up their game these days.

Many all-inclusives have restaurants helmed by fantastic professional chefs and offer at least one gourmet dining experience that’s included, and many even offer 24-hour in-room dining.

All-Inclusive Sample Prices, From Budget To Luxury

If you’re wondering if it’s worth it to pay for an all-inclusive compared to a more budget-friendly hotel and having to dine out, a few sample prices might help you decide.

Prices for dates in May for a budget-friendly, a mid-range, and a luxury all-inclusive in Cancun are:

  • GR Solaris Cancun – $286/Night
  • Haven Riviera Cancun – $488/Night
  • Hyatt Ziva Cancun – $740/Night

As you can see, prices range considerably, and there is an all-inclusive for every budget in Cancun.

All of these resorts are highly rated, and considering the rates, especially with the more budget-friendly option, it really is worth it if you think about what you would pay for a regular hotel plus meals for two people.
