For the Cancun hotel scene, 2024 was a great year, with the opening of more than a handful of luxury hotels taking place over the year.
Now, as 2025 gets underway, travelers who will be visiting Cancun can look forward to even more new hotels and several updated existing properties.
So if you want to indulge in paradise, these new and improved Cancun luxury havens are waiting to be booked for 2025.
Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres
Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres is a new adult-only all-inclusive opening on February 12th of this year.
Located just minutes from Cancun in the exclusive Playa Mujeres resort community, this sophisticated all-inclusive offers its own amenities in addition to access to all of the community’s amenities, including a marina and a golf course.
The resort itself features beautifully appointed rooms, a white sand beach, a luxurious spa, 6 pools, and more than 15 bars and restaurants.
St. Regis Costa Mujeres
Although an exact opening date has yet to be announced, the new St. Regis Costa Mujeres is in the works and slated to open sometime near the end of 2025.
The property is expected to feature more than 150 luxurious rooms and about 80 residences.
Amenities will include several dining establishments and bars, butler service, multiple pools, and a beach club.
Park Hyatt Cancun
Few details have been divulged about the new Park Hyatt that will be coming to Cancun, but it is expected to open sometime in 2025.
The resort will be situated on a stretch of Cancun’s white sand beaches and will have beachfront access.
Information on amenities is limited, but the new Park Hyatt Cancun is expected to have several restaurants, bars, and lounges and offer the same personalized service the brand is known for.
Sandos Cancun
Sandos Cancun isn’t a new hotel, but as of this month, it is now an adult-only property and is being relaunched with updated food, beverage, and entertainment options.
Situated right in the popular Hotel Zone, the luxury all-inclusive features a 3-layered infinity pool, a white sand beach, a luxurious spa, and amazing views.
Amenities include 4 gourmet restaurants, a high-end buffet, 2 bars, and 24-hour room service.
Club Med Cancun
Club Med Cancun is another property that isn’t new, but that is having several new features added as it undergoes renovations that are expected to be completed by July of this year.
The all-inclusive resort has remained open as it’s been undergoing a major transformation that includes relocating the Kids Club and adding a new program for children 23 months to 4 years of age called Baby Club Med.
There is also a new Sports & Wellness Island and a new Family Oasis area that will have its own pool and family-friendly suites.
Kempinski Hotel Cancun
The Kempinski Hotel Cancun used to be the Ritz-Carlton Cancun until Kempinski took it over, and it went through a massive renovation that began in 2022.
Some of the updates made to the all-inclusive include renovations to the tennis court, new pickleball courts, updates to the culinary center, and new menu items at its Club Grill and Fantino restaurants.
Now Kempinski has taken those updates a step further with new Mayan-inspired spa treatments at its Kayanta Spa.
Best To Visit Cancun In 2025
When you visit Cancun, it depends on what you want out of your Cancun vacation.
If you want a more laid-back vacation with fewer crowds, then the best time to visit is during the late spring, late summer, and early fall.
Cancun’s busiest time is during the winter months, from December through March.
It’s a great time to escape the cold, but you can expect it to be filled with tourists during this time of the year, and there’s no bad time to visit Cancun.
